Does the prior art have to be from a portable mp3 player? If a software mp3 player on computer had a such an interface, shouldn't a similar interface on a portable mp3 player be 'obvious'
The European Space Agency has been taking advantage of an equatorial launch site for 40 years in French Guiana. NASA has managed to remain relevant during those 40 years, so I don't foresee Brazil's recent launch changing that.

In addition to Cuecats, this also seems similar to Digimarc's Mediabridge in which you point a webcam at an ad in a magazine (they put a special symbol on the ads that work) and the software redirects your browser to the company's website.
The writer doesn't run that website. If you read the article and letter from the ex-Stones lawyer you would know that they're asking him to cease and desist in using his name as a byline in the articles he writes.
Here are some of IBM's non-Unix mainframe OSs. http://www-03.ibm.com/systems/z/os/. They could be using some other vendor as well.
The document properties say it was created with dvips and ghostscript. Plus, it sure looks like Computer Modern font to me.
