I heard talks about black holes since I started taking an interest in science when I was 6 (I'm 27now). After 21 years have we still not discovered proof of black holes?
This is why college, IMHO, blows so hard. Its one thing to ask me to pay money to teach me something I want to learn. It's another to make me pay for things you're teaching me that I dont need and or care about.
I do basic IT admin work and I haven't gone out and gotten a degree. Just a long list of job related work experience. However I work in an region of the U.S. where a degree isn't going to help much anyway because there aren't high paying IT jobs unless I want to commute 2 hours every day.
The point is. Sometimes experience outweighs a degree. Sometimes you need to know math. It all depends on what you want to do.
I practice stenography. Most people find a file, assume it's just an executable or what not, and move on, never realizing that the incriminating evidence was there the whole time. If this guy really wanted to be a dick about it, he could have taken perfectly benign pictures and changed the file names to sexy 6 year old or whatever these ass hats look at.
Thurs-vectored. a conjunction of Thursday Vectoring. Example: Using Thursday vectoring to make sure you approach your Fridays at the correct velocity and angle.
Exactly! This is why Homer stepped in in this case. This kid probably reminded him of himself when he was that age. And he knows better than most that in this case what she needed was support not expulsion.
I dont think you know who Homer Hickam is. Homer was a kid who grew up in a mining town where either you graduated high school and went to the coal mines or you got out on a football scholarship. He had a curiosity about space and rockets that could almost be described as fanaticism. His farther didn't support him, his friends initially didn't support him and only one person encouraged him, his teacher Mrs. Riley.
He performed countless experiments throughout his high school days most of which were dangerous but he never gave up.
He eventually graduated high school and went on to Virgina Tech and got a BS in Industrial engineering.
He then went into the military and got into NASA and I'm sure I'm missing things in between.
The point is, after seeing who elected to send her to space camp, the reasons become clear and make sense.
Does mankind's hubris know no bounds? Geological surveys have studied rock layers to determine that the heating and cooling known as global warming and cooling are natural cycles that the earth has been going through since before man knew what gunpowder was let alone petrol.
Has our burning of fossil fuels helped? no. But we certainly haven't caused this. If anything we just gave nature a jump start.
Your looking a little scruffy there youngster.... Let me show you how we shaved back in my day... whoops, my hand slipped, let me clean that up for you.
The IT admin they hired back in the early 90's hasn't gone back to school, hasn't learned one new piece of IT software or hardware since landing his job. He's very comfortable with the systems both hardware and software that are employed and he will not go out of his way to change things. In fact when the higher ups, who know nothing about computers, ask him if there are any upgrades they can do, he will proceed to list several options and then thoroughly point out their flaws and shortcomings most of which is BS. The real reason he avoids change is because he hasn't learned anything in the past 20 years and is afraid that his ineptitude will show during the transition and he will be out a job. Simple as that.
What about all my friends currently visiting other planets in far distant galaxies. All joking aside I've grown up in one town in one state of one country. Sure I've visited other states and even have a few friends from my military days that live in other states. The ones that I keep in touch with most are the ones who I grew up with and even if they live in other states now I can keep if perfect contact with them using means other than facebook thank you very much.
You will note (or maybe you won't) that I added 'phone' to the list of contact methods. Surprisingly enough even non games know what that one is and how to use it.
Yeah, people used to say the same thing about MySpace.
Leaving FB is a lot harder to do than moving on from Myspace or Friendster was years ago. I know for a fact that I'd lose contact entirely with many people if I gave up my FB account.
Been there, done that. Told my friends to use xfire or steam to get in touch with me or use this novel invention called the phone.
It's easier than you think to break away from facebook.
See you say that, but I don't believe you. Maybe because every time facebook does something like this people say screw them... and go right back to using them in a month.
I haven't used facebook in over 5 years and nothing they are doing is making me regret my decision.
The article is bullocks. Google glass isn't too nerdy. Now if you'll excuse me, I have a chess tournament to get to. *makes sure his Bluetooth ear piece is in place, hops on his Segway and rides off into the sunset.*
As far as I am aware, the only types of games that are the most pirate proof are the online only schemes like Guild Wars, WoW, World of Tanks, Warplanes, Warships.... etc.
These types generally have server side authentication which allows only one license to connect at a time.
Please, can you name one bigger game from the last years that was not available cracked few days after the release?
Ooh! Ooh! I love Q&A games.... hold on..... This one's tough..... well I give up, I can't think of any games that aren't cracked in a day or two... Wait does this mean that DRM only hurts the people who pay for the game and might actually drive people to download illegally?
(NOTE: Don't answer. It's a rhetorical question. The answer is yes)
Why are people sharing blog posts like it's news. I read that whole thing and it sounded like one long whine. How about some real news /.

Quake... maybe even Quake tournaments.
Steganography. Stupid android auto spelling.

Protip: Practice what you preach. You sound incompetent.
You forgot to post anonymously. Now they're going to find you and sue you.

Homer Hickam
Edgy... You keep using that word. I dont think it means what you think it means.

Bah! you're no fun.
The cycle continues.

Think about the pirate bay and you'll get the gist.
