Stennis space center, one of the largest collections of federal project IT in the gulf south is in the middle of no where Mississippi. Most of my old friends work or have worked there. Bearingpoint inc had a global development center in Hattiesburg, MS that I worked at before they went bust. So yes, this is nothing new.
How is that provocation by any standard? I said nothing disparaging at all. I didn't try to convert anyone at all.
And how is my atheism "hypocritical"? How am I claiming to believe one thing and behaving the opposite? Do you think I go home and night and pray in secret? How does that even make sense?
Ok... I get it, you are just a troll that likes to insult people for no reason. I guess I fell for it.
It is bad enough that they are calling programmers "engineers" these days, maybe 5% or less of them actually apply engineering principals in the design of software. But a sales guy?
An engineer is an practitioner of applied science, someone who takes theoretical advances and implements them. In most countries and engineer must be tested and certified. An engineer has an ethical obligation to the general public, the users of his design and his clients. An engineer may face legal consequences if his designs are flawed and result in loss of life, work or property.
Your kind can no longer intimidate my kind with the threat of ostracism or death. I will not hide my atheism. It is a label I wear with pride and moral superiority.
The topic of the bible came in tangentially, and tangentially I mentioned my atheism in the context of my relatively thorough biblical study. You want to know whats a real asshat move? Those people that walk up to strangers and ask: "Have you found salvation through christ our lord in heaven?" Or people like you who talk crap about people and their religion or lack thereof without any provocation.
You know what I dislike about people like you? That you sit on a high horse of supposed moral superiority without realizing that the the horse is a dead rotting corpse. Christianity theoretically has some pretty good moral aspects (you have to ignore the genocide, murder, rape, slavery, apocalypse, torture, damnation, misogyny and a few other aspects) like "do unto others as you would have them do unto you", "judge not lest ye be judged" and "let he who is without sin cast the first stone". But you did unto others as you complain about doing unto me, you judged me and didn't want to be judged back and you sure as hell cast the first stone.
I don't have a problem with good Christians, because the worst they will do is say "I'll pray for you". I have a problem with self righteous asshats who behave as though the morals they supposedly uphold do not apply to themselves.
You are wrong. I am an atheist and I don't care what people believe unless they try to convert me or it makes them behave insufferably in some other way.
But that isn't what my post was about. My post was that there was a lot more to biblical law than 10 simple rules. Everything else was just context.
That number has to be off by a lot. There are what? 8 million WoW players? If WoW was the only game in the US, each WoW player would only be playing 51 hours a year? I've known people who logged that much time every week in that game and even my friend with 2 kids gets at least 8 hours of WoW a week.
If you had read the book, you would note that those 10 laws are followed by many many pages of exceptions, conditions and penalties. It isn't the modern body of law, but it is a lot more than just 10 laws. I've read the bible, cover to cover, twice. It is one of the major reasons that I am now an atheist.
...the plutonium lasts very very very long time....
"Me love you for the duration of plutonium"
Has a nice ring to it...
That may work for a plutonic|platonic relationship. But when you press it together and things get hot, it tends to end rapidly and with with a violent explosion.
The density argument is also bullshit. With a the exception of a few ultra dense asian cities, US cities are no more or less dense than similar sized cities around the world. And we still have high priced crappy service with mono|duo-polies is those markets as well.
or at least the cd multimedia systems upon which it was based.
ah... html title attribute falls under this. My html early history is pretty sketchy but I believe that the element a had title from before then.
laptops are more portable because they close to protect their screen and input methods from damage.
I also happen to have a touch screen laptop.
Everyone knows that oracle makes software that costs hundreds of thousands of dollars...
so it has to be good, right?
I think I will stick to the gulf coast,
where the pay isn't that bad,
and I really aught to boast,
the women are scantily clad.
That isn't insightful.
A tablet is a laptop with highly limited features in exchange for nothing useful.
A laptop is a desktop with slightly limited features in exchange for portability.
There is nothing you can do on a tablet that can not be done on a laptop instead.
Naw man, you can just move your house to just about any RV park in the US.

I like mine battered and fried.
No. not that way! Put down the mallet and jumper cables.

And why is it at the bottom of a list that otherwise includes IT professions that I can recognize?

I do remember that. Enron, Dick Cheney's company, created brownouts intentionally so they could game the electricity market.
That is not an inherent property of democracy, that is an inherent property of life. You work, starve or leach off the work of others.
droid & droid 2 have a keyboard already.
speak for yourself.
One mans good thing is another mans bad thing.
I would be sorely tempted to overthrow the corrupt governments of the world and bring freedom and democracy for everyone.
The big problem with that is that I actually believe in freedom and democracy, so I would end up having to sell out my principals to achieve my goals.
We do have a place for them. It is called upper management. And the conquering warrior kings have become CEO.

You wouldn't have as many problems if you didn't have an iphone in there.
