That's exactly what I think of him. He executed and completed the mission given to him.
Having said that, I was glad he did not become the next MSFT CEO. It would have been a big mistake for MSFT. He is not the kind of guy to turn a company around.
This article just reminds me on the essays I wrote in high school and university. I could find 1000 evidence to support my argument, I could also find 1000 evidence to go against my argument. What it matters is how many people click the link and how much ad revenue one could get.
The problem I see with uber is there is no major deterrent for other companies to enter the market. A uber driver could easily be recruited for another ride share program. It is more like groupon than tesla.
Easy -- just pay someone in the embassy to trigger the fire alarm or start a small fire. Get everyone out of the embassy during the fire and arrest him.
I don't know why anyone voted you down. It is a fact of life whether the companies want to admit it or not. The NSA may not request the key officially but I just can't see why they wouldn't do it "unofficially" as it is much easier to do than having to crack the key. To me, that is no brainer.
It does nothing to stop the C51. The right thing to do is to donate to the opposition party that would against C51. They need the money the could get to deliver their messages to the voters. Alternatively, compromise the political party in power, expose their scandals, etc. This is no more than public stunt that does nothing to anyone other than earning a few headline news article, at best.
It's funny you say that. I always thought Mr Elop's mission is to destroy nokia so Microsoft could buy it at pennies. I thought his mission accomplished.
Good point..... I still prefer to be spied by Chinese than American since I don't live in China and they can't surrounded my house with roads:-) I may have a different opinion if I were to live in China though.
Most garage door I've seen are secured with a simple latch. How about pry open the bottom of the door and pull it up. I'm sure it takes less than a few seconds. No?
There was command line user interface, then (multiple) windows user interface, then single screen user interface (android/IOS/windows phone), now going back to multiple windows user interface..... next would be going back to command line interface. Cool.
The greatest thing about idevice is the annual upgrade cycle. A lot of dumb ass upgrade their idevice every year -- and it is safe to say > 90% of idevice users upgrade theirs every 2-3 years. I don't see and do not anticipate people replacing their car every 2-3 years, let alone every year. Car navigation system may sound cool in theory, it may not bring in much more revenue. Having said that though, it may reduce the upgrade cycle of idevice.
I don't have the source to refer to and I may as well make this up. I read it somewhere in my country the occupation has the highest injuries are roofers and police is far down the list.
I think the idea sound but it might be too expensive and not cost effective.
Let's say that saves $50 a month in electricity bill (that is very optimistic). $13K / $50 = 260 months = 21 years. Let's say tax payers chips in to offset 50% of the cost. It is still 10 years to break even, not to mention installation cost and the battery may not last 10 years. If it is priced at $2K, that is a different story.
Pictures ad or text ad on website usually host on different servers than the content provider. If I use my old fashion telnet to get the content, I would have to make an extra effort to download these ads. What I am saying is one would argue ads are not part of the "content" from the content provider.
Of course I know that Canada is a very water-rich country. The "water" might not in the form of liquid though for ease of transportation.
I don't think you got my sarcasm -- let's say the water pipe is built and the drought problem in California is gone, the "water" pipe could be converted to oil pipe without much hassle especially. That explains why the water pipe is going to cost $30B -- it needs to withstand anything we throw at it in case it leaks. Water leakage is likely not a problem, oil spill is.
Judging by the market share of android vs ios, (yes, I have the flame suit on), I'm sorry to say that apple.... hmmmm.... does not matter. So is windows phone.
I hate to blow the bubbles, if you go to any branch office of multinationals around the world, you will find the majority of people at the top there are from the origin countries. One would argue that it is only limited to the people at the top, i am sure there is some sort of discrimination taking place but at a lower scale comparing to Tata.
> and people say unions are bad this is what happens when we don't have unions to stand up for workers rights!
Yes, we need unions to stand up for the union officials and to justify their existence. Don't believe me... from where I'm from, union is so powerful that they could dictate the outcome of elections. That's how they justify their existence -- have pet politicians who listen to them if they want to get elected.
I really hope no one believe what the article says.
The government wants all of us to believe that we're safe and secured by the overreaching NSA.
All USA government needs is to ask apple (or any companies) to disclose their encryption scheme. It is far cheaper and more effective than trying to hack or crack anything, don't you think?

The difference may be huge but the end results are the same :-) Cheers.
Cool. I would much prefer to be spied by Chinese than American until Chinese has the power to kick my door. Discussion closed.

I hope the "water" from the "water" pipeline is not coming from Alberta, Canada.

You: I maintain my right to be silent and will not unlock my iphone.
[noise]
Customer officer: Opps, I think you accidentally unlocked your iphone with your finger print.
You: .....
Yes, they hacked us and didn't get the encryption keys. They then asked for the encryption keys nicely the next day, we gave it to them :-)
I think this is a bad law / implementation. That will only reduce the sales of new phones. That is going to be bad for the economy, ahem.
