    A lot of the small businesses at the time were scam artists and had crappy products. Corporations made a somewhat better product with consistent quality

    more like when these kids grow up they will go back to big business

    if i'm taking my family on vacation to florida i might as well stay in a hotel. airbnb means i need to rent a car, pay parking, risk a hotel room if my flight is late and the owner can't make it at a later time to give me the keys, etc. you're not really saving much money

    So if you are in a car with a lyft driver who blows through a stop sign, crashes and you get hurt requiring weeks in the hospital and lots of money lost from not being able to work its ok?

    We had something like this in the 1800's and earlier

    Corporations won because they offer a consistent experience. I rent a home on airbnb in Orlando I have no idea what I'll get. I've read of horror stories of people renting out their homes to multiple guests at once. With Disney resorts I know what I get.

    Ride sharing is too expensive unless done very rarely. Might as well buy a car.

    The brands and corporations won almost 100 years ago because they give people a consistent experience and are somewhat helpful if there is a problem.

    how is creativity not measurable?
    people go to school to learn creative skills, art, design and others. all art is based on prior art and to be a successful artist or designer you have to know why things are the way they are.

    i work close to a lot of art galleries in NYC. i work in a building with lots of creative businesses in it. people come in to work every day. in a lot of cases you can see inside and people are in meetings, working, etc.

    art isn't made sitting in starbucks all day thinking you are creative. its coming in to work every day

    probably because the valet cars are allowed to wait by the terminals unattended

    in NYC no cars are allowed to be left unattended by a terminal at the airports. even if you are in the car, a lot of times the cops will tell you to move

    you leave your car keys with the valet which are probably left in some semi secure area. in theory the valet can be a terrorist or someone can steal the keys and take the car to use it in an attack

    in theory you can give your car keys to a terrorist, but that would mean you are in on the plot and would have to communicate to other terrorists about it. and the NSA has a decent chance of finding out about this

    in NYS i've had the same plates for 10 years, now on my 4th car in that time frame. every two years i pay $170 for a window sticker to register my car with the state. when i buy a new car i pay the DMV to transfer the registration to my new car

    what is the point in new license plates and how is this costing so much money?

    and yahoo has a tiny fraction of the revenue of google and MS. apple was almost like a start up from 1997 through 2012

    yahoo might not be a start up but its pretty close where she can get it turned around

    google started in 1997, not 1986 like microsoft. there is a huge difference in running a company from start up to peak profit growth than from peak profit growth to maintaining market share

    in fact i think that google and apple are right about where MS was in 2000. the fast growth is over, lots of employees have been hired compared to the fast growth phase and going forward its going to be a lot of internal politics

    google is a lot like MS in that a few money making parts like advertising support a lot of cash burning projects

    they used to be where you go for news, but lots of start ups have taken over this function. AOL and a few other big companies host most of the internet's big blogs

    How do you fit a family of four into 850sq feet?

    Most new construction in Colorado that I have seen is 3000 sq feet. Separate rooms for the kids, shared bath and separate closets

    I have seen old 1920's era homes in NYC and they suck. One bathroom for the entire house. Vey little closets. No family room.
