    Except for a very few movies, iTunes has everything. Including most indie movies. Only annoying thing is they take off rent sometimes and only offer to sell them

    For anything I buy I buy a blu ray with digital copy which includes an iTunes and/or vudu copy you can streAm any time

    because those are the ones that won't buy into this tech

    my guess is that 5% of the people on the road are the really bad drivers who violate the laws on a regular basis
    the next 5% do it sometimes to speed up a trip if they are in a hurry

    if you have a robot driving your car that follows all laws then the 10% of bad drivers will easily cut in front of you and double the time of your trip

    its a good idea on the surface but will never work in the real world because tech rarely overcomes human instinct to make risky decisions for very little upside or time saved

    i've lived in NYC on and off for over 30 years and this is my 3rd hurricane

    lots of hurricanes hit NYC usually every few years. its quite normal

    sandy was barely a category 1 hurricane, very weak

    not only was Irene not a power storm, in NY state it did the most damage after it lost hurricane strength. it was a slow moving storm and dumped a lot of rain in westchester county washing out a lot of railroad tracks

    if you look at wikipedia, NYC gets hit by Category 3 storms once every 70 years on average. Sandy was barely a Cat 1 when it hit us.

    the last one was in 1938. 135 mph winds when the storm made landfall at Long Island. we are actually overdue for a very powerful storm here

    Sandy hit at high tide and a full moon
    the gravity of the moon raised the water a few feet which is why the storm surge caused all the flooding

    we had a more powerful storm hit NYC the year before and it did a lot less damage because it didn't hit at high tide. very minor flooding.

    for another hurricane to do as much damage as Sandy, it has to hit the around the 22nd of the month and make landfall close to 8pm

    All the anti car people complain how their taxes pay to subsidize roads. Same with transit here. It's partly subsidized by a property transfer tax.

    My lirr monthly pass only covers 25% of the expenses

    I take the train to work to. Lots of people in NYC have cars mostly for weekend travel

    Even inside NYC it may take 2 hours or more to go somewhere by train. Try that with kids

    Last week I was at the beach till 8:30pm. Drive back. Train ride would have been almost 3 hours and I wouldn't have stayed that long

    Wait till the kids grow up, pay most of their loans off, get married And get raises. They will buy cars again

    I live in NYC and transit costs a lot in subsidies. Fares only cover 25% to 50% of costs

    Like you install netbackup on it or one of the other enterprise products And it backs up directly to your tape robot via the San. No shutting down the database. No copying to a snapshot. Online backup of the production db straight to tape. Full, diff and log backups straight to tape.

    Does it support online restore?
    Is it certified for VMware and hyper-v?
    If you have a problem can you open a support case right away?

    Vista SP2 and later is a whole new kernel that had been in development since 2001. smaller and modular unlike the bill gates throw everything into the kernel strategy

    Windows 7 is exactly what you wanted. a new OS with backward compatibility. that's why its 20GB of disk space to install it. there are multiple versions of almost every file for backward compatibility

    it has everything to do with smartphones and tablets

    a family needs only 1 PC in the now. but a smartphone or tablet for every member on average. lots of kids starting around 9 get their own smartphones. earlier than that for ipads
