    ios has the best mobile MS Exchange client right now
    easy to develop and deploy internally developed apps without itunes
    lots of enterprise apps in the app store right now. everything from vmware, to access to corporate databases on the go

    what is Microsoft going to offer other than a lite version of MS Office?

    some sales guys from IBM once told me that for LTO the way they make tapes is they have a huge roll of LTO tape and they cut it up. supposedly the inner part is the best and IBM said that's what they use. its not like every manufacturer makes their own tape, it all comes from the same few factories

    in our HP servers we use HP drives and i have never seen 2 drives fail in a RAID 5 at the same time. one time i've seen 2 drives fail in the same RAID5 within 2 days. that was once in 10 years.

    With HP's warranty and custom firmware we get alerts of predictive failure and HP will replace drives that are predicted to fail.

    hey stupid, kids were always tracked in school
    25 years ago teachers took attendance in every class with little paper cards. and we had home room twice a day as well. for decades NYC has had special cops who's only job is to go around and arrest kids who are not in school.
    if you were out of school then at night an automated system would call the home phone to tell your parents you missed school

    in my day the schools never took attendance. home room was for a quick break with friends. teachers couldn't care less if you were in class and never took attendance either

    the traffic is sent into the air and its up to each receiver to filter the noise and ignore data not meant for it. lots of interference.

    its OK for starbucks or for home use but not by much. i have at least 10 wifi networks around me that constantly interfere with mine. i used to get regular disconnects from x-box live that went away when i tried to connect my x-box to my router with Cat5 cable. same with video streaming.

    this is why large events have crappy data speeds. everyone is broadcasting into the same air space and interfering with each other.

    the iphone stole 14% of mobile PROFITS a year after it was first released. and that was only 1 million units sold.

    almost all of those cheapo phones sold around the world make no money. all the profits are made on a few devices.

    apple is now at something like 60% of PROFITS of all cell phones sold around the world. Samsung is 30% or more. everyone else is fighting for scraps
