how are they going to report drastically different earnings a few hours later? the quarter ended over a month ago, it's not like they can just push some business into the release to meet the numbers.

some sales guys from IBM once told me that for LTO the way they make tapes is they have a huge roll of LTO tape and they cut it up. supposedly the inner part is the best and IBM said that's what they use. its not like every manufacturer makes their own tape, it all comes from the same few factories
in our HP servers we use HP drives and i have never seen 2 drives fail in a RAID 5 at the same time. one time i've seen 2 drives fail in the same RAID5 within 2 days. that was once in 10 years.
With HP's warranty and custom firmware we get alerts of predictive failure and HP will replace drives that are predicted to fail.
hey stupid, kids were always tracked in school 25 years ago teachers took attendance in every class with little paper cards. and we had home room twice a day as well. for decades NYC has had special cops who's only job is to go around and arrest kids who are not in school. if you were out of school then at night an automated system would call the home phone to tell your parents you missed school
in my day the schools never took attendance. home room was for a quick break with friends. teachers couldn't care less if you were in class and never took attendance either
except in real life the only reason the railroads ever got built was because the government gave them low interest loans and free land. if these guys actually had to buy land and pay market rates for money like good capitalists have to they would never have built anything
the traffic is sent into the air and its up to each receiver to filter the noise and ignore data not meant for it. lots of interference.
its OK for starbucks or for home use but not by much. i have at least 10 wifi networks around me that constantly interfere with mine. i used to get regular disconnects from x-box live that went away when i tried to connect my x-box to my router with Cat5 cable. same with video streaming.
this is why large events have crappy data speeds. everyone is broadcasting into the same air space and interfering with each other.
iPhone email is way ahead of blackberry now. Has been for a few years

Nope, I'll probably vote for Obama
I've lived in the USA for 30 years and only thought about voting for Perot as a third party candidate when I was young and dumb

so how many people here complain about taking English or some literature course instead of more CompSci? why can't i read SciFi all day long?
buy the show, watch it as many times as you want, download it to mobile devices, no need to worry about data usage if you're not on unlimited data
As long as you don't go out of manhattan

But then the phones won't need more ram than a server and quad core cpu's and the techtards won't be able to cream their pants dreaming of specs
the iphone stole 14% of mobile PROFITS a year after it was first released. and that was only 1 million units sold.
almost all of those cheapo phones sold around the world make no money. all the profits are made on a few devices.
apple is now at something like 60% of PROFITS of all cell phones sold around the world. Samsung is 30% or more. everyone else is fighting for scraps
Nokia had no true smartphone os so it was windows or android. And android is Samsung.
The geeks might have liked the n900 or whatever it was but the iPhone and droid had all the hype
It's amazing what billy beanne has done on a tiny budget and going against what all the experts said
