  1. References etc etc etc. on How Students Use Wikipedia · · Score: 1

I think it would be better to use Wikipedia as a source to find reference. You find what you're looking for on Wikipedia, then follow the references. If there arent any references then you should probably move on anyways because it's unsubstantiated. IMO this is what makes Wikipedia more useful than many physical sources, its facts are usually referenced and substantiated.

What if he doesn't use twitter? Do they expect him to make an account, get everyone in the crowd to subscribe (assuming they don't have some massive aversion to it like my self and refuse to go) and then update the twitter telling everyone to beat it?

This also some how assumes every single person in the crowd has some mobile twitter solution configured as well which is entirely ignorant. If the law officers don't understand anything even a little they shouldn't be allowed to take actions based on their ignorance. Thus they should be relieved of their duties as they cant possibly do their job by making such obtuse assumptions. What the hell is this? The dark ages?

  4. Nuts to Grenpeace on Greenpeace Decries Lack of Environmental Progress From Console Makers · · Score: 4, Insightful

Their rating system is entirely biased and is not even remotely objective. Their admitting in the past that they will still give failing grades to some companies even if they are the greenest around just because they think it might influence them to do better. Basicaly saying regardless of how well you do you'll never be good enough.

Effectively they invalidated the entire program of rating companies meaningless. You cant hold everyone to wildly different standards and still expect to be taken seriously.

So this guy's phone is off right?

I sure as hell don't carry around my disabled phones with me so their request would have been entirely useless.

Also, if the radio was the carrier can still find it. Like others said 911 is still always active on the phone regardless of service. This is why its suggested to leave a phone and a charging cable in your trunk in the event of an emergency.

Seems everyone is making a big deal out of a stupid request. It should be "Moron cops don't understand technology, make idiotic request. Thinks cell phones allow you to track people even if they don't have it on them."

All of the NTP patents have been rejected by the Patent Office in initial and second Office Actions, based in part on prior art not considered in the 2002 trial in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. The rejections from the Patent Office were all based on multiple grounds, required the unanimous agreement of 3 senior patent examiners and are expected to withstand all future appeals by NTP.

It only took a month to go from the second to final re examination on the most recient invalidated patent. Yea right the process is going to take years ignoreing everything thats taken place already... This guy needs to be banned from journalism.
