I'd have to say i've lost 45 seconds to a minute now.

If maybe all the websites on the internet were being slashdotted all the time it would be an improvement.
I say we just start building Coral P2P Proxy into all web browsers and call it quits at trying to speed it up. Lets just average everything out for an acceptable speed while maintaining availability.
FreeNET would also be a good thing to start moving to - Bittorrent clients built wiht freenet supprot for trackers and such would be exellent.
Theres not much you can do to speed up 4MB DSL. This is really hurting my browsing performance.
I'd also like to know how it figures it save you time. Consitering i've "saved" half a second going to several websites now that load 5x faster with out it.
This is true. I work in IGS and its only getting more and more profitable.
The sad thing is IGS management is getting greedy tightening the belt so much they are squeezing the life out of what used to be an exellent envirornment to work in. Now its all about making everyone doing twice the work in half the time. They dont realize that yes they are saving X ammount of money but theres penalties that if even one group was hit with could turn that gain into total loss.
Its complete greed and they dont give a shit about their employees anymore. Once when I started with them (I call the golden age) we were making money hand over fist, everybody was happy and we were making our goals with room to spare. Now we're barely making our goals and everybody is hates IBM. *EVERYBODY*
Last I checked the Mac Mini ran a full operating system, hard drive, optical drive and probably 1000x the performance of this thing.
Call me when this thing can compete. Then we'll consiter it Taking that...

You put everything on a Memory Stick Duo. Theres no way to write disks for it (yet?)
It uses a MPEG4 format for the videos too, its not some crazy proprietary format just a slightly modified version of mpeg4 IIRC. Makes it easy to transcode. This is why theres already so many converters to toss video onto PSPs
Even if you don't count Apple's actions this week as a potential threat to first amendment rights (Apple's crackdown on Web sites that love the company), they do nothing to bolster Apple's public image.
Ok seriously now, thats not helping anything either. Apple has a right to find out who in their company is both breaking the law and lieing to them. Those people who are breaking the law done have any rights in my oppinion and I do hope that Apple finds out who did it and they get fired and punished accordingly.
If I had a contract with somebody and they broke it, I would want to know about it and so would you.
To apple, Size matters. Smaller is better and its the motion of the ocean that gets the job done. Adding satellite to the silly thing would make it much larger. MAYBE they could talk apple could into licensing its look and interface but asking apple to add their stuff to it in my opinion sounds unreasonable. If they want to be cheeky, they could make their own add-on for the ipod that uses it as a control unit.
Let's start posting torrents in slashdot comments. I'm probably going to get in a lot of trouble for coming up with the idea but hey, genius can be a curse.:-)
This is actually a pretty good question for students. When I was in school for Computer Networking and Administration the price tracking websites were always useful but it was a pain in the butt some times getting reasonable prices with details on hardware. Sure I could have listed the cheapest website but (if) you want to keep some credibility you can't, you have to pick a credible resource.

I see you missed the humor in the concept and that amuses me.
I wonder if we will be able to apply the Start To Crate rating system to the movie like we can to the game. The the game (or movie) can be compared to the length of time before you see a crate, the longer the time the better the game or in my theory a movie.

Actually, Start using FreeNet to hosts sites like suprnova. That would solve that problem.
