    The Columbine picture absolutly shocked me. OJ and Di were forced into our skulls by the media. Most of us are familar with the rest (Assinations, children running from napalm, Birmingham) of the images, none the less they remain haunting.

    But that Columbine pic.. You disconnect yourself from the suffering of other people, but once something (even art) transfers you to that place and time. *shudder*

    I'm actually a bit nausious.

    Maybe Salon created/embellished a story that wasn't really there? Kinda an out-there therory, I know. One wouldn't expect that type of thing from journalists.

    Now if you'll excuse me I have to go watch a very special "It Could Kill Your Children" on Dateline NBC and read up on the start of the Spanish-American War.

    As a resident of Indianapolis, I can assure you this is indeed a knee-jerk reaction, but not in the way one would think. This is political posturing. Bart Peterson (mayor) couldn't give 2 sh*ts about the welfare of the children. The Democrats have broken the Republican stranglehold on this city's government, and they're going to push all sorts of crazy laws like this down our throat before the next election "for the children"

    Of course, Indy was one of the first cities to repeal the 4th amendment. Compared to the roadblock (and our jack-booted thugs of police, but that's a different story), this story is nothing.

    Except for the fact that Johnny Sixpack gets a free IE with his computer.

    Your average user has trouble checking e-mail, let alone changing browsers because "It's the right thing to do". The only hope Netscape has is if AOL shoves it down people's throats.

    Mir has been taken over, "conquered", if you will by a master race of space fungus. It's difficult to tell if they will consume the cosmonauts or merely enslave them. One thing is for certain, there is no stopping it; the space fungus will soon be here.
