You can only use GOST and several other government approved encryption schemes/algorithms. That's it. And if they catch you with this phone you'll be in prison. If they can't wiretap you using SORM (Sistema Operativno Rozysknikh Meropriyatii - Operative Investigation System) you're against them, and if you're against them, you're in trouble.
FSB, formerly known as KGB. On numerous occasions they've ordered the Russian phone companies to turn off even the weak GSM encryption and wiretapped whoever they wanted. They also release "proslushki" (wiretaps) of some politicians talking on the phone on some "independent" web sites almost weekly. BTW, in Russia they don't need the warrant issued by a court to do this. Basically every god damn cop can wiretap whoever he wants if he has the gear. Too bad the use of cryptography (except for the government-approved algorithms) is not allowed in Russia.
Their only strength was hardware and support. Now they will ship commodity hardware and compete with a company that kicks ass in support (IBM). I kinda feel sorry for them, they should have fired Scott McNealy LOONG time ago.
Stealing in this context means "copying not authorized by the copyright holder". As easy as this.
Consider what others would have done to him.

He'd be outside living in a cardboard box.:0) The climate of software industry wasn't always as "laid back" as it is these days. There were times when people could make a million bucks a year by working 120 hour weeks. Heck, if someone told me I can make this much by working this much, you can bet your ass I'd sustain the stress. Then I'd take a three year vacation.:0)
The problem is, it's somewhat complex, so not many use it without a dire need to do so. Windows security model is light years ahead of UNIX security model.
They were helping people stealing music. In the US you can get 5 years in prison or up to $250K fine or both for doing this. It's in every god damn DVD for Christ's sake, you can't even skip this portion.
Those PDAs are totally unusable as they are. I'd like to see AT LEAST 640x480 resolution so that more text fits on the screen and Excel isn't such a PITA to work with. Keep the screen size the same, but UP THE FUCKING RESOLUTION!
The point is, search engines seem to be becoming a commodity. MS can easily get a hundred million users to use their search engine right after its release. If this search engine is good enough, they'll stay there generating revenue. If their engine is significantly better than google, they'll talk their friends into using it. And I've heard they plan on indexing twice as many pages twice as fast as google. Wait for V2 though. Google still has time to diversify, but they won't. They think they're invincible.
I think it's not worth buying Google shares. I also don't think there was a takeover bid. Building something like google from scratch would cost a lot less than the insane money everyone on this thread is talking about, especially considering there's a whole group working on this in MS Research. As always, V1 will not kill anyone, but V2 (which may be 2 to 3 years away) coupled with integration into Longhorn/MSN/Whatever will sure send google's stock price into tailspin. If you think MS doesn't have enough smart people or technology - think again. Heck, there are at least two search engines on the web already that do pretty much the same thing as google - alltheweb.com and teoma.com. The word is, teoma.com indexes more pages. If MS is serious about search (and it sounds like they are), I'd suggest Google to diversify their business somewhat before it's too late.
I find it ridiculous to pay $40+ per month for them to show me ads and propaganda. I feel THEY should be paying ME to watch it.
I use "rabbit ears" antenna for the local news, and that's more than enough TV for me. What will I have to do in 2007 to get the same free-as-in-beer service?
It's not even Beta. It's more like "pre-alpha". Developers haven't even started working on the UI. There are a bunch of ideas and stuff flying around. Later they'll do usability testing and throw all the useless stuff away.
Non-full frame sensor pretty much requires very sharp lenses. So you either need to buy lots of fixed-focal lenghth ones or you need a few Canon EF "L" series zooms. I own two very good "L" zooms, EF 24-70mm f/2.8 ($1125) and EF 70-200mm f/2.8 IS (image stablilized, $1400 used but mint). I'm also planning to add ultra-wideangle zoom to this (from $700 to $1300 depending on my next year's financial situation). As you can see, the price of the body isn't the main expense here.
Before thinking about branding it wouldn't hurt to writte a GOD DAMN INSTALLER!
One big thing that everyone seems to miss, the product names should include a word explaining what the product does. So Firebird transforms into Firebird Browser, and Thunderbird transforms into Thunderbird Mail. Just because you know what Firebird and Thunderbird stand for doesn't mean that Joe Sixpack will know. It would be great to give him some clue.

Crap.

And no, I do know UNIX security model very well.
They call them "action requireds". Exactly as written!

I mean, come on. Don't buy into the hype. Why would you want someone with washboard like ribs and with no tits in your bed?
As IBM is gonna make the processors for Xbox. Tough choice here fellas. They support both Linux and MS.
... frequently found on slashdot. I'm talking about the unknown to me word "thier".
Come on folks, RTFA. The article is just a bunch of rumors carefully worded to sound believable.

Imagine how many copies of Office all those people would buy.

Very similar, but not the same. As per Canon, the die is smaller (though the sensor size is the same) and another technological process is used.
They will have to support your car for as long as it stays under warranty. Like 6 years 100000 miles or whatever. Otherwise they'll get sued.

Always one URL away. Stuff arrives within a week. Real CDs, no compression, with authentic artwork and everything.
Sometimes buy.com has better deals on stuff, too.
