How do we know intel is going to lose this info, how do we know someone else puppet (aka government) developed this and is using intel as a proxy. VNC is open source, so wheres the source of this implementation? Why VNC and not RDP? I use VNC but I acknowledge that RDP is better.

Is not going to happen, you can't force marketing on a "product" thats not mean to be marketed. The trend that Apple started is the "dumbification" of technology, everything has to be easy and work 100% of the time, shit can't go wrong because users are clueless or have better things to do than to fiddle with config files in nano, ascii both ways.

Linux requires users with smarts, curiosity and free time and those are not common to a lot of people. Linux should focus in introducing itself to kids and education environments since, by personal experience, kids easily love Linux because they have the 3 things I mentioned above, also they have the motivation to pose as "teh 1337dude that uses Linux".

Android is a good example, everybody knows android and most of them know that it runs on that stuff called Linux, they see it working, they see it's cool and shinny and at least in the consumer mind Linux is not synonymous of bash prompts and 8 bit color GUI anymore.

Most of us would like Linux to have a relevant market share, but in reality what we'd like to see is more people smart enough to value Linux and with the motivation to learn it and tame it, is not going to happen unless you give them a strong motivation, a tangible motivation. _Freedom_ is not tangible, people ask themselves why using Win or OSX make them _non free people_ and then they realize it's a televangelist kind of discourse and could not care less.

What people don't realize is Apple can see the Serial Number of the device that purchased anything. If $50 worth of crap was bought on your own phone, You're responsible. An exception to the rules may be made if it was a kid or something.

Or if malware on your iPhone bought it?

Because there's so much malware on iPhones buying apps...

How do we know thats not that case? How can You be so sure? Imagine this, some App developer found a vulnerability that would grant him access to the compromised information we are talking about, he keeps the vulnerability for himself and from time to time he checks if still working, buying some apps from him and his buddies. That way they manage to go low profile and they avoid tarnishing the "Apple Security Holiness" that would affect their core business. Yes I know Apple reviews every single app submitted, do they analyze each and everyone with the same anal retentive that we have come to associate with them? I don't know but you just can't rule out and insider either.

Apple may be cool and whatever, but they still employ humans, carriers of that condition called "human nature" you're not going to tell people that because someone work for Apple he or she is automagically cleaned of any mischief, criminal or antisocial traits.

Truth is people are still having their money taken from their wallets and while your password politics seem right, people would like to see Apple caring a bit more because is not about the "volume" of people affected it's because it can be something more serious than a simple dictionary attack or simple password recycling.
