That is true for pre-2.6 kernels and
if it was x86. Now the Linux 2.6 kernel requires
a bootloader. The best you can do IMO is to create
a minix fs on a floppy with LILO. You can use GRUB
also, but it does require a bit more space, which
shrinks your freespace for the kernel.
Listening in via the 5ESS switch is a 'feature'.
Literally a BRCS (Business and Residential Custom Service) feature. It's just not well documented,
and in fact, is not normally taught to switch techs.
But, it's just a variant of 3WC (Three Way Calling).
As to VOIP tap-ins, well, the government would
rather you use VOIP since it's much easier to collect.
His e-mail going out says its from christbartle.com,
but the e-mail servers upstream are trying to
prevent spam, and are doing a reverse DNS lookup
which returns bartle189.dsl.frii.net which
does not match chrisbartle.com.
They think you are a spammer.
Your ISP is not managing DNS properly for
your domain.
Can you really divide it so cleanly?
Are there not interfaces between all of the layers?
In this case, the question applies to a userland application, and I would agree that LGPL would be a suitable license as A.K.A Magnet wrote.

Folks, if you didn't see this coming, you haven't been paying attention.
GPL is a License. Linux is a Trademark.

But there are also dark side issues as to why various manufacturers want proprietary OSes.
Clueless, closed minded people think in black/white mode.
But, they have not won. They will have won when the US no longer exists.

Not good. Both of their nameservers are on the same network.

Talk to your ISP. Good Luck.
Perhaps there is a connection.
