I think that while this may be a rediculus example of computer art, it got me thinking about the whole topic. And I was wondering, just how should a computer artist sell his art. I mean realistically is someone can make endless copies of an artwork, they can't charge much for it. For example prints, while they are sellable, still generally cheap unless they are of a limited quantity. So I was thinking, what about software could be limited, the true ownership. What if the artist made a limited number of versions of a program, say 5. They programs had absolutly no difference in them cept the version numbers reported in the corner of the screen. Could the artist then turn around and sell the copyright ownership for each version seperatly. Thereby keeping limited quantities (of true ownerships, owners can lincense out copies oviously) and keeping the price high?
The point is that they could have called the P-III a seventh generation processor, but the point is its not. There is little to no change from the P-II to the P-III they both are classified as P6's (damn if I didn't know better those numbers would confused the hell outta me) sorta in the same way as the 486 DX wasn't much different from the 486SX (ok ok it did have that weird thing they tried to pass off as a FPU). Though accually if Intel had contested they could have easily got away with calling the P-II a 7th generation processor, as it went from socket 7 to slot 1. but they chose not to. To late! (the Pentium I was a P6 right?..)

Its basically an artistic thing. No real purpose but something neat to show your friends. Basically you type in a word/phrase and it looks it up in a search engine and then pulls sentences with those words and some random images and places them randomly on the screen and lets them float around. Its just for artistic sake nothing else. When trying to picture it, think of floating text screensaver, which pulls its data from random places on the net.
It is only the install program that seems to be platform specific. Its a windows self extracting.exe installer. Once its installed it appears to be straight java. I'd be willing to bet that it should work on OS/2 that is if you can get it install. (Your the guy who said you had OS/2 right?) If not I bet you could unpack it into someone elses machine and copy the appropriate files over.
Sorry, I've already got a patent on using a network to share data for the purpose of forming a strategic consumer alliance. I would tell you where you could look it up on ibm's site, but its a trade secret.
Accually I thought so too (read my comment) But if you look at packetstorm.genocide2600.com you find out that he did say this (apparently revised his statement a few times) but this is exactly what was quoted by JP minus the cuss words in which he notes where removed at the bottom of the page.
ARG I hate it when I have to recant things I just wrote, oviously Ken really did say this (possibly unless someone hacked packetstorm.genocide2600.com But it seemed to be genuine. This was on the site, and seemed to directly mirror what JP quoted (minus the curse words which Ken admits to having)
Funny how I spent the past few years donating my time, literally thousands of hours, to "the security community", never making even a penny off the time and work I invested, and have now lost it all because John Vranesevich is able to make a quick phone call, fabricate absurd stories about criminal activity, and effectively ruin years of work, my education, my career, my life.
So much for Truth and Justice.

Does anyone know where JP lives? No I do not want to harm him in anyway. I'm am more just curious of the city he lives in.. I would LOVE to check with the local law enforement and find out if they have had any contact with JP, and or are protecting him, for some reason I seriously doupt that and if any contact exist most likly its not a friendly relationship.
JP's Quote of Ken Williams, and Ken Williams accual quote (differences are underlined) Funny how I spent the past few years donating my time, literally thousands of hours, to "the security community", never making even a penny off the time and work I invested, and have now lost it all because some asshole named John Vranesevich is able to make a quick phone call, fabricate absurd stories about criminal activity and bullshit I never did, and effectively ruin years of work, my education, my career, my life.

I am guilty without even being informed of what was going on.

Sorry I take that back.. lets not have an email campain.. apparently ftpsearch.com isn't owned or operated by lycos it simply redirects to ftpsearch.lycos.com and open up porn windows while its at it.. They are probably making good money doing this... does anyone know of the legality concerning such actions, as they are using lycos's content to make money for themselves?
Yes, personally I'm very offended by lycos' advertisment of porn sites? What corperate idiot decided to link to that meta-dog site in the first place? Anybody up for an email campain against lycos? (I used to accually respect lycos believe it or not)
While I'm not talking about your circumstance perticualarly (your childeren are very young, barly to the age of being able to make complete cause and effect conclusions) I bet if you let a school aged kid eat icecream all day they would be sick as a dog a few times and eventually learn the lesson. Now I'm not quite sure why they havn't learned about poison ivy yet. I mean it only took me one or two times, the pain is just not worth it. But if one sees fit to only explain to children concepts and not to let them find out the stupidity of it for themselves, the are goint to get nowhere. Children are naturally rebellious explaniations do nothing. Libraries have had a long term commitment to not censor. I mean they might not have a subscription to playboy or anything, but thats more a matter of legality as you really can't leave such items out in public. Do you take your kids to the movie rental place and let them pickout whatever they want. As you should watch your kids in regular society, libraries don't have to be the exception (I do believe school libraries should offer some filtering simply because parents have no means of control). You know what annoys me most.. I really wanted libby as pres. too.. now I'm gonna have to rethink that idea.:(
Well microwave radiation is a bit different, but as previously suggested you should try more in the line of 100mg and wait a good 30 minutes before using the microwave. That way you give the caffine time to spread throughout the body, so that when the cat is properly cooked, you can have a tasty caffinated meal.
Umm there hasn't been a real meltdown (been close calls yes) in america since 3 mile island and that was.. sometime in the 70's I think (not good with dates.. but anyhow it was a long time ago) Technology in containing radiation has increased drastically since then. The whole anti-nuclear thing made sense back in the 70's when we really didn't know how to control it, but it just plainly stupid now. (though I still prefer hydro geo or wind)
Well well color me confused. all about the tcap: seems to be fairly valid, and its on bell labs site. So this might accually be alien technology. ARG. I don't know weither to be amazed or critical. For right now, I'm very critical

You know if it wasn't for your login "Just Some Guy" I would swear your a geekess. Though you may just be doing a bit of gender switching as is common in these days?.. hey did you by anychance ever get on efnet as Justagrl ??
Well accually it sorta is. Lets say I run command.com and then procede to change to the mozilla bin directory and type apprunner that command.com (dos box) will start displaying the apprunner messages. seems like sorta a dos protected mode application to me. Or something of the sort. Nothing wrong with that, just kinda odd.
How exactly do the scroll bars not work. It was my understanding that they finally fixed the scroll bars for M7.?? If the scroll bars don't work in specific cases and you can recreate it on another win box I would suggest reporting it to bugzilla
