Most electric companies would prefer you tone down daytime usage (what cost them the most) and increase nighttime usage (where they make their most profit). I don't know how these bulbs fit into that equation though. Either way in the long run the electric companies will simply up the rates they charge if people are using less electricity. Because you'll always need some until you can completely get off the grid.
Have you even used Ubuntu? You keep saying Linux can't do this.. and it can't do that.. Sure Linux doesn't do these things by default, because Linux is just a kernel.
Simply put, virtually everything you can do in Windows without special programs or special programming experience you can do in Ubuntu from the GUI. The only thing I can think of that this is not true of is the shadow backup in Vista that is mentioned. It would defiantly be a nice feature, and it can be added. And the idea that Ubuntu or other distros won't eventually is short sighted.
Remember that you can also buy gamecube games for it, there are some GREAT ones out there. The XBOX360 didn't have many good games in its first 6 months, give it some time.
Can anyone out there explain to me why intelligent (or even non intelligent) life can't exist in such places as the sun and Jupiter. Seems like with the constant swirl of chemical reactions often violent you would have a high chance at some type of competition forming between these reactions that could at some point develop a simple defensive and offensive mechanism for competition and eventually some type of intelligent reactions. Possible? I always theorized that life did start out as fire or similar fire like chemical reactions that though some chance formed protective layers..??
Also with the move towards multi-core there is the potential that special task could stay on one processor for their entire length. This would renew reason to look at vector processing for main CPU usage.
Yes, every time they and the RIAA push legislation to extends copyright they are denying the public access to vast quantities of creative works that can and should be use to create new works.
If you want to, you can preserve each element of each scene separately, in an analog format or a completely-documented digital format but on an archival media, such as a "paper printout" stored on microfilm. I don't think most movie studios will go to this expense.
I got the impression the "client" was the client in terms of X type client. It runs the applications while you view them remotely somewhere else. I'll have to do some more reading, its not really clear either way.
This is my guess from the limited faqs From what I can see it expands upon X in three ways. 1. It allows you to use it from any device without installing anything (besides a web browser I would assume). 2. It has a collaboration security model. So multiple people can be on the same session some can read some can read and write. 3. It uses less network bandwidth than X and heavily relies on browser cache.
Can I downgrade my OEM version of Windows Vista Business to Windows XP Professional? Yes. OEM downgrade rights for desktop PC operating systems apply to Windows Vista Business and Windows Vista Ultimate as stated in the License Terms. Please note, OEM downgrade versions of Windows Vista Business and Windows Vista Ultimate are limited to Windows XP Professional (including Windows XP Tablet PC Edition and Windows XP x64 Edition). End users can use the following media for their downgrade: Volume Licensing media (provided the end user has a Volume Licensing agreement), retail (FPP), or system builder hologram CD (provided the software is acquired in accordance with the Microsoft OEM System Builder License). Use of the downgraded operating system is governed by the Windows Vista Business License Terms, and the end user cannot use both the downgrade operating system and Windows Vista Business. There are no downgrade rights granted for Windows Vista Home Basic or Windows Vista Home Premium.
You've been able to get XP through their small buisness site for a long time. Generally the small buisness site is the best way to buy and they don't check to see if your actually a buisness if pay with a credit card.
It will be interesting to see what happens honestly. Technically the business versions of Vista include a downgrade license (IE you can legally install XP by buying Vista) It would be interesting to see if Dell goes this route. If their XP sales are significantly strong, you might actually see them attempt to do this.
A version similar to what it looked like this morning, except this version doesn't have the Ubuntu on it at all. I seriously doubt he installed Ultimate on all these computers just this morning. Got to wonder the motives there..
Nope, I've had several barely computer literate coworkers ask me how they go about buying a computer without Vista.

When have you seen the party in power ever start an uprising? No see at that point in time they think they have already won, and its over...

Because they are secretly planning to buy out Ubuntu, before you know it you will be running Windows Vista, you just won't know it!

It cost millions to make a movie.. Why not.

Hmm, Idea Storm says "immediently available". But I still can't buy XP on Dells home website..
No it still doesn't beat the hate for Windows ME.

Thats freaken hilarious, I'm gonna look through my cache and see if I can find the previous version.
Its considered indirect cost. And yes the Judge might have said no, but its not stupid.
MS makes most of its money from its money from server versions and Office. It could give away its desktop software and still make billions.
For some its the money, for some its the scripting (its got a MUSH like scripting engine.. hmm MUSH..) and for many its the furry sex!
This was a pre-trial deposition. They are generally scheduled well in advance to attempt to meet both parties calendars.
You should have asked the judge to make her pay your legal cost (this included missed work time etc).
