Generally a parlour (or parlor) is defined as a place to relax or sit and chat. Early pizza parlours probably wished to be defined this way as burger places didn't.
Your absolutly right any association has to fight to keep its members happy. So the blame really should be the large record labels who encourage this action.
Luckily Directv tivos are only 5 bucks a month for the service and so far they havn't even put the during FF banners in much less the restrictive recordings. But who knows.
There is talk of google selling their service. I would love to be able to offer a ssl web app at my work so my coworkers could access and work on their documents from anywhere
Yes, all FUD asside (and this is mostly FUD) if linux switched NOW to another license it MAY be usable in some situations where it isn't now. But what makes Linux itself is its license. If it had a different license it would simply be another UNIX clone would it not, and most likly it would still be sitting in Linus's FTP server right where he left it many years ago.
What they are really hoping is for a program that can run on your desktop or run though a webapp both of which can be syncronized to a remote (at google I guess) storage as well as local storage. Will this happen? Maybe, maybe not. The other half of the crowd is just hopping for something anything that gives good competition to Microsoft.
Trust me, had the trial never happend Microsoft would be more anticompetative than they are today. They would have bought out or destroyed google in some way by now.
Except our desire for more and better is what drives our technology and science. So if we are to continue to progress as a society we have to think its sucky and have the drive to change it instead of just bitch and moan about it.
An economy relies on their being rich and poor, the poor doing all of the manual work and labor of course. It really wouldn't work any other way. Luckily technology can become the poor manual laboror of the future and you can pay them as little as you want (essentially energy and upkeep and if you scrimp on these you pay the price). Question simply is can we spread out enough and become universaly educated enough for everyone to be ruler of their own domain.
Yes, I'd much rather be plowing fields daily and walking by foot in the snow to the store. Oh yea, things may seem suckey, but only in comparison to your wishes. Trust me, utopia will be sucky too, such is the vastness of human desire.
Ok, it must be repeated these web apps arn't written in JavaScript. These apps are run on the servers, JavaScript or whatever language is used on the client side is simply essentially a network window system. Sorta like X-Windows. X-Windows is JavaScript is kinda stupid too, but its not as bad.
But they arn't getting illigal land. This is like you moving to the edge of a county into another county and the county complaining that you arn't moving onto their land. This land is effectivly its own county and provides its own fire/police/etc services. Just because it physically exist within the municipal county is meaningless.
Agreed, my dad once broke his phone and didn't have the insurance plan so he went down and got a cheap no contract paygo from walmart that was the exact same phone as he had before. Turned around it and activated it. He never even used the minutes that came with the paygo.
The winners, or close-to-finishers, are huge SUVs filled with computers and special-purpose sensory equipment.
You have to realize these are general computing components programmed to do specific task. Most design stage hardware is large for that very fact its being designed. Once the exact software and hardware needs are finalized a production version could shrink this down to much small size, and given moorse law it will be small enough to fit into a smallest car in no time.

Some say the newest Google Desktop is practically a browser.
I speculate that pet projects of google employees get pushed as rumors frequently to get their projects more attention and ultimatly to beta.
Has there yet to be a serious google rumor that didn't come true?

Then why doesn't he just get Weaton to direct it. I'm sure among the two of them they can scrape up enough money.
