May I know little about the Linux kernel but some motherboard at work required a driver that comes with a newer kernel than we use. And I had recompiled other drivers so them works with our kernel. I'm talking just the standard Redhat 8.0 kernel. So to me looks that some drivers source come within the kernel or are in the source tree at least which doesn't make sense for a network card. And drivers who doesn't aren't even binary compatible between kernel versions. May be some Linux hacker could explain this to me very very slowly so I can understand this or what I'm doing wrong.
This is the most extremely stupid comment I have read so far on this story. Do you really want those things running amok where you live? Have you ever used a computer? This is the same as the ed209 robot in Robotcop that kill the executive because it doesn't get he's not armed. What you are talking would lead exactly to The Second Variety, a short story by Philip K. Dick the same writer the original short story of Minority Report on which the movie is based. You better read it before dooming all.
Nobody wants to take your toys away, what the rest of the world wants is to you stop using them on innocent people. Or you are so paranoid to think that the rest of the world is against you?
That's why people who defend human rights want them given to everyone, even the worst criminals. When exceptions start to appear, abuse will come next.
Thanks to you. It's nice to exchange points of view respecting each other. And better without./ zealots around. Guess because it's an "old" article must be few active threads:-)
I don't know what corruption are you talking about, but Saddam was at last leting them get to things. Probably for fear of invasion, but the investigation was advancing anyway. That was not the point to force the war. What those "certain" soldiers say is that was the procedure they were told to follow. And the news are that Guantanamo may be even worst. After a war? I don't think the war is over right now. I think that whatever Iraq becomes (democracy paradise, religious dictatorship, etc) it will not be a friend of USA. Your sarcasm is welcome, but take note that the accused part are those that supposedly are given Iraq freedom, human rights and democracy.

The open source community generally doesn't like the idea of having to buy a new printer every time there's a new kernel update
But having to upgrade the kernel to use a new driver is allright? Why should drivers come with the kernel anyway?
* Orbital Lasers
Not that they exist, of course. They are an urban myth, like... er... Area 51 and... mmmmh aliens.
Nothing to see here, keep moving.
C language is obviously also developed by aliens. Thats how he reprogrammed the aliens computer.
May be but 100 million is 3X the total poblation of my country. And that could go up...
Your argument doesn't belong here, it's logical, rational and objetive.
You have to tell us: what superpower you developed??
Nothing like a world ending 'meltdown' can happen
What's the point then?
Get a life?
And that would prove... that he has gone to dentist?
Could you (or he) explain because NO ONE could be found that say that saw GWB in service?

Oil. "A sea of oil".
After all they were used to take those WMD photos that prove... er... never mind.

Get a look at this Newyorker article. It says not only Bush, Rumsfeld and Rice knew, Rumsfeld ordered it.
This would change everything if you look at it, but it is, like, transparent. Can I patent invisible screens?
For me is not conceptually different as using a DB as the data repository for a web app. It should be transparent to the user.
I'm 3.14159x more productive but I'm stuck in a loop.
SVK supposedly has distributed revision control and different flavours of merging. SVK uses Subversion as a versioned filesystem.
So if I want to trash my files XFS would be the faster, right? :-)

You must be a wimp. Real nerds extrapolate their data!
Now I understand that blue screen of death...
