  1. Dune rocks!!!!! on Dune TV Mini-Series Released On DVD · · Score: 1

Dune is great. People may not like it but it is one of the better movies I have ever seen. It is up there with Army of Darkness, yes a cheesy low budget movie but still very cool.

  2. wouldn't have sucked if... on NIMA Locates The Mars Polar Lander · · Score: 1

wouldn't have sucked if they found the thing and it had landed the wrong way. They'd be screwed but it would be funny. Oh well all NASA would do is build another one and cause or taxes to sky rocket( no pun intended ). Or better yet put somone else's life on the line and fly them out there. We need to get out there some day it would be cool.

  3. cool on Slashback: Franklin, Head-Mounting, Timing · · Score: 1

computers are starting to be worn on the outside. I can't wait till the day comes when we will be implanted with computers. Just think how cool it would be.

  4. monkey want a banana on Give That Monkey Brain A Robotic Arm! · · Score: 1

First off I think it's cool that they are doing stuff like this to help people. No one really wants to be stuck in a wheelchair all their life. Second, it's amazing what science can do today, robotics has really been picking up lately in the past few years. Who knows, we may have cyborgs by 2020 or something.

I have a joke too: A little boy named Timmy in Los Angeles was born without the ability to walk. He Prayed and prayed to God everyday so that maybe he could walk. One day a miracle happened God himself heard the prayer and came back to Timmy with a resounding NO!

  5. YAY on At Last, Mir to be Ditched · · Score: 1

down with the decrepid thing. It has had so many problems I'm glad they finally decided to ditch it. Anyway aren't they working on a new space station now? This one should be much better, and I heard talk of tourist trips to it sometime in the future but who knows how long that'll be. They havn't exactly perfected space travel yet.

  6. contest on Cheap Launch Ends In The Drink · · Score: 1

I remember something on TV about a contest that had Mier in the title. I wouldn't enter that contest for anything. I know that they are planning on crashing it in the spring, but if you win a contest like that to probably go up there when they plan on dropping the station to earth they'd probably give you a tour of the thing first. I eouldn't weant to go anywhere near that decreped old station for fear of the shuttle disengaging from the airlock and drifting away leaving me stuck on the damn thing.

  7. Slack on Slackware For Sparc · · Score: 1

I run Slack 7.1 currently. This is the first Linux distro that I've ever run. I like it , but I don't know how well it would do on a sparc though. I have used solaris on it and it works just fine, now all of our computers have redhat on them. Personally I liked solaris better but hey at leaste it's Linux. A friend of mine is using Debian right now and says he refuses to use anything else now. What do you think? Which distro is better Debian or Slack, we've been arguing about this for a while.

  8. ooooooo scary on Chandra Discovers Enormous 'Skull' · · Score: 1

Isn't it amazing what people see when they look at something sometimes. I'd say it is just a coincidence that it looks the wat it does. That's only at a certain angle so if you turned it say another 45 - 90 degrees it wouldn't look like a skull anyway. I think it is cool though that weird stuff like that happens in nature though.

  9. Power to them on Sega & Nintendo Partnership Just Hype · · Score: 1

I don't think Sega has any new systems in developement now, but after Nintendo releases the GameCube they should work together. Sony's PS2 is what's taking the market by storm right now, and they really have no competition with this. The Dreamcast itself is pretty powerful though. Lokk at Shenmue when you see some of the clips from that you'll see what I mean. Maybe though after the GameCube comes out and they work together they might actually produce a system that'll make Sony look like a joke, but I wouldn't hold my breath on it.

  10. that sucks on Playstation 2 U.S. Release Scaled Back · · Score: 1

That really sucks I like sony a lot. I don't know if anyone remembers though that the playstation 2 almost didn't make it over here. Supposedly they used Missle guidence technology in it somehow. Because of that the govenment was about to say NO. Anyway it is going to be released in the states so everyone is happy. I already paid in full for mine so all you out there who didn't better do so soon. This system is going to rock.

  11. Re:The reason GAMECUBE will bury the X-Box... on Nintendo Unveils GAMECUBE At Spaceworld 2000 · · Score: 1

  12. PS2 or Gamecube on Nintendo Unveils GAMECUBE At Spaceworld 2000 · · Score: 1

which do you think people are going to want more. This time around hopefully Nintendo will have more games schedualled with the release of the gamecube than they did when N64 came out. That is one of the things that turned many people away from the N64, and if they keep it up the same thing will happen to the Gamecube.

Another issue is the Apple business. Yeah they more than likely will try to sue Nintendo. I mean why not everyone loves to sue if they have the chance, but they aren't getting anywhere with it. If a lawsuit is filed Apple won't get anything because the in no way impeades on them.

One more point I'd like to point out is that I think this new system was origionally called the dolphin. Yes GameCube is short and much simpler, but I think Dolphin was a much better choice. Then again I could be wrong and the dolphin is another system all together. If I am right though I wish that they would make it the Dolphin again. Anyone else?

  13. WTF on White House Files Amicus Brief Favoring RIAA · · Score: 1
What the hell is the White house doing getting involved with the Napster case. I know it may be one of the things Clinton is trying to do before he goes out of office, but they should just leave it the hell alone. There are too many people out there who use Napster and like using it. I for one use it a lot, but I don't use it to burn cds or anything like that. I just get a few select songs once in a while to just listen to them. They should know though that if Napster is taken down that won't stop people. There is still Gnutella and Scour plus probably a few other utilities you could use to get songs and even other media from people online. Taking down Napster really woin't stop people.

I have one thing to say Hackers of the world unite we'll easily take them down!!!!!!

  14. Like that'll stop em on Kmart To Card Buyers Of Violent Games · · Score: 1

&nbsp The carding of persons wanting to buy a video game from Kmart may stop kids from buying the violent games there, but what stops them from getting them from other retail stores such as WalMart, Babbages, Electronics Boutique, etc. The only thing that is going to happen from this is that Kmart is going to lose money. They will be contributing to morals, no matter what kinda a joke morals are anymore, this may help in some small part.

&nbspThe other thing is that they can buy games online as well. One they could ask a parent or a relative to order it for them. Two they could just grab one of their parents credit cards and charge it themselves.

&nbspAnother point is what are we going to oconsider a violent video game? just aboout every video game is violent in one way or another, with the exception of most puzzle games or like virtual pet sims. the only thing they'll basically be able to get is a game with a lower rating than teen, and even some of the game that are marked for everyone may have some violence in them so that limits them even more.

&nbspThe whole point behind this is that Kmart, even though it is trying to do something good, might as well forget it. The only people left with any morals at all are our grandparents. Kmart may have started something good, but who knows if other companies will jump on this and do them same thing. Even if they all did there will always be the internet where they will be able to buy anything they want as long as it's within their grasp.

  15. Not Our Problem on Is This How Sol Will Die? · · Score: 1

The sun is a star, and like any star will some day die out in a huge super nova. We, of couse, won't be around when it happens so we don't have anything to wory about right now, except getting sun burns and maybe skin cancer. We won't be around when in a few billion years from now the sun will die. Hell this planet is a mess now to begin with, and in the future will most likely be uninhabitable. Who knows there may not even be any human on the Earth by that time. We will all probably have moved out into space by then. What is the next stage of the sun is UV, we won't be able to go outside durnig the day and even at night it could still be harmfull to us; we would fry very quickly during the day. Just be glad that the sun won't die out during our life time, and remember that it won't be our problem anyway.

  16. that's cool, but on Plastic Electronics Driving An LCD Monitor · · Score: 4

there is one thing to consider when using plastic instead of silicon. A lot of people like to leave their tv's and even their monitors on for an extended period of time. The problem there is that electronic equipment heats up the longer it is left running. Fans or no fans, if some of the internal parts, like transistors, are plastic they will heat up. The downfall to this is, even though they are going to be cheaper, they may have to be replaced more often. Where is the efficiency in that? Yes I know it would be a lot more resonable then getting a plasma screen, because they are way over priced. I would rather pay the extra to have the silicon parts then to have something that may not last very long.
