While I agree with you that the U.S. has done some questionable and downright shitty things to many folks around the globe, part of the problem is also the lack of freedom of the press in much of the middle east. The Middle East Media and Research Institute has a large collection of translated newspaper artlicles, from the region, which shed light on some of the anger directed at the U.S. and it's allies. There is a lot of anti-US propaganda, comprised of blatant lies, that is being fed to the people of the muslim world (at least those living under religious dictatorships or in kingdoms, like Saudia Arabia and Iran).
You are correct. It's been a long day, and I wasn't thinking about that bit. Though, I don't really think it would have much of an effect on the end user. The kind of person that would actually change their behavior because of a Microsoft EULA (or use Front Page for that matter) is also probably not the kind of person who would have much bad to say about Microsoft.
This is obviously unenforceable. It seems, to me that they are just trying to cover their own asses, in the unlikely event that someone tries to sue them for their product being used for the purposes stated in the EULA.
I love Marathon and am enjoying the new mod Rubicon, but it's not 3D the way Quake is. You can look up and down a little bit, but you certainly don't have 360 degrees. I've never seen directly above in Marathon. As far as storyline goes, Marathon beats Quake handsdown. But when I want to shoot the shit out of something, nothing compares to Quake. The engine is much more fluid, and just feals more realistic.
If you like Noir, you might also try Dr. Adder. Jeter wrote it in 1972 and it has a lot of the elements of cyberpunk but in a wierd twisted way. The story revolves around a guy named, you guessed it, Dr. Adder who gives his clients drugs to get at their deepest sub-concious fantasies. Then he modifies prostitutes (physically and genetically) to meet those clients desires. There are also wierd sub-plots that take place in the post-apocalyptic (now cliche, but at the time it wasn't) Los Angeles. There are roving groups of people who have random assasination parties, religious conservatives who control the media, wierd underground societies. Very strange but cool book that wouldn't have been published without the help of Philip K. Dick, who convinced the publisher to put it out despite the content.

While it's true that the cube is fanless and very quiet, the pro-desktop G4's are every bit as loud as their PC counterparts. -toe jam
Yet Baywatch is the most popular underground show in Iran. Hmm, I wonder why? -toe jam
