Except Al Queda is one of those groups that hates nudity more than Americans do (well, we don't hate it, we REALLY LIKE it; but that's not proper to admit). Have you ever seen a strictly-Islamic female showing ANY skin at all? To do so would be worse than the `crimes' of America. (Don't you love their definition of crime? Sex and freedom. Damn. I feel really bad about myself now.)
NEVER EVER COME BACK TO SLASHDOT AGAIN. WE DONT LIKE YOUR POSTS AND WE DONT LIKE YOU. YOU SEEM TO ONLY BE ABLE TO CRITICIZE OTHERS AND SLASHDOT.
Guess what, readers of slashdot like slashdot and don't want your criticism. It's not good criticism, it's you saying "you're all dumber than me, get off my slashdot". ITS NOT YOUR SLASHDOT. YOU'RE THE ONE WHO'S DUMB.
As they say, a stupid question gets a stupid answer. What's next? "Linux says my CPU is 2136.34MHz but the box says it's 2135MHz. Why is it overclocking and damaging my processor?!"
Actually the area of an elipse is quick math too. Area = a*b*Pi where a is the long radius and b is the short radius, so to speak. Note that a circle's long radius and short radius are the same, hence A = r*r*Pi, A=Pi*r^2, the formula we all (should!) know. Now we can all know the more general case.
Yeah my english was unclear. A 2500+ is 11x166, a 3200+ is 11x200, a 3000+ is 13x166. I'm sure you could underclock your 3200+ to a 2500+ if you wanted. Sounds like a bad idea though:)
Theirs is a good scheduler, while yours isn't. That's what it comes down to. Or more likely, theirs got implemented and yours didn't. Implement it and submit a patch, maybe (ha) yours is better.
Who cares? Windows probably checks for a lot of things and doesn't tell you about it. If you don't want to hear about it a) don't use linux or b) comment out the printk that makes that. Oh, that was hard.
Heh, AMD finally figured out that the 3000+s were a waste of money since you can convince your 2500+ its a 3000+ by changing the multiplier from 11x to 13x. Oh well, you can convince it that its a 3200+ by changing the FSB to 200 from 166:)

I have gotten really tough on people who don't moderate good comments about M$ down. "M$ had a patch out months ago"? Oh really? -1 Overrated. Hahahah.
Frankly, I don't want to hear about windows. I fucking hate it. I only want to read about why Linux is good, etc. Hearing about M$ is about as fun as eating shit. And that's not very fun.
In summary, fuck microsoft. And this most isn't flamebait, I'm sure other people want to say the same thing.
> why does it sound so strange to call it the one foot powerbook?
Probably for the same reason everything is $19.99. Hey, it's under $20!
In this case, people think "wow, inches are small... and there's only 12" whereas if they said feet, people would think "a foot!? that must be a GIANT laptop". Connotations are fun, aren't they.
Thanks for clarifying that. That's actually a good idea. I thought it was for copy protection or something (and wondered how hard it would be to copy the text into gnuplot or something and make a new graph)
> And Linux nVidia Driver will be always described with one word: crappy.
Let's give nVidia a break. Yeah, one bad version of drivers. They work fine for me (although not with AGP enabled). Anyway, let's see if they fix this. They probably will, and we'll all be happy again.
And BTW many games get higher fps under linux than windows. Crappy indeed.
Going off topic, I've tried everything NVAGP, AGPGART in 2.6, beta drivers, etc, etc. Googling has been mostly useless, so have forums. I think I might as well post in a forum, eh:-D
Yes, my $55 MX440 gives me 30fps in UT2003 with high detail at 1152x864. However, I can't get AGP to work (if anyone has a KT400 chipset and nvidia opengl working under linux, tell me!), so 30fps is a bit low. $200 to me seems like WAY to much to pay for a graphics card (although I would like to have 85fps [85Hz refresh on my monitor] at detail maxed out).
You're apt-solutely (oh no... way to much coffee today) right. apt is what keeps me from using some other distribution.
Also, along with gentoo and slackware, debian is one of the "real" distributions. It's not made for Windows users to try linux "d00d 1 g07 m3 teh LINUX!" like Mandrake is. It's not made to create a sterile environment for drones like RedHat.
Anyway, you might think I'm trolling, but I'm not. This is just my impression; I'd love to hear what you guys think:)
What about GStreamer? It's GNOME's multimedia framework, and there are plenty of programs that use it like Nautilus (for previews), Rhythmbox , and Totem. There's no sound daemon, but that's a job for ALSA and dmix (or a good sound card).

Well, it's a hard problem. If it was an easy problem, then it would have been solved.
You might say that it's an NP hard problem. Hahah. *crickets* Oh well.
Those are some nice graphs. How'd you make them?
> Your car has windows.
:)
A car with windows brings new meaning to blue screen of DEATH, doesn't it
Well, you know what they say... there are only 10 kinds of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who do not.
OK, here's what you can do, Mister Dumbfuck.

Now fuck off, you whore.
As they say, a stupid question gets a stupid answer. What's next? "Linux says my CPU is 2136.34MHz but the box says it's 2135MHz. Why is it overclocking and damaging my processor?!"
How do you answer that without a lart?

Sorry to be a math nazi

Windows sucks. Linux is the best.

I get 90fps on the Linux version and I can't get the ()&@#Ing nvidia driver to enable AGP without crashing my system. So that's better than windows :)

Meh, my friend lesser hardware and 50fps. So there's some driver issue here :)

How in the world is Industrial a rip off of XP? Where are the similarities!?
