Remember when Sierra Online did this a few years back. They put out one of the Krondor games, plus a few others. It was cool to download a full game but it sort of became obvious why it ended up being free.
Look at it this way - you know this guitar will be expensive, so it will have to be a money band to use one. The money band are the ones who get lots of radio and video play. When was the last time you heard a REAL guitar solo on a radio station? Queens of the Stone Age show some promise, but look at all the Korns and power metal crap...its all distorted bar chords. The only one really doing any work is the drummer.
Yeah but if the guitarist sucks, then having 2 kilometers of cable won't make up for it. So what if the guitars are capable of producing quality sound, it still takes somebody to play the damn thing. What, are we gonna hear Creed's power chords more clearly now?
Its kind of hard to read an article when the first sentence mentions somebody from Journey.
"Steeeeeeeeeeeeve PERRY!" "Dude, no more Journey psyche outs!"
Still, I am surprised it took this long for them to realize this idea. But the question is - will it change anything? Will it bring back the long lost guitar solo?
But do you honestly think that Linux would be where it is today if Microsoft had made a more stable, reliable product? How many users out there wanted to try Linux just because they were sick of dealing with Microsoft products?
Cinemark theatres has a promotion right now where if you buy a $3.50 bag of popcorn, you get a DVD with a bunch of movie previews and interviews, sort of like what you can expect to see if you bought the movie on DVD.
League of Extraordinary Gentlemen is on there, and I must say it looks badass. I am no familiar with the story at all, but it looks like something worth seeing. I'd watch anything with Sean Connery.
I wonder if anybody managed to grab a red Swingline stapler on their way out.
"Hey Milton. Whaaaaaat's happening? We're gonna have to go ahead and....let you go today. So if you could get up and leave right now, that would be greeeaaaaat."
They can't make real people stop calling my house, and we are supposed to believe they can make anonymouse internet people stop sending out mass emails. RIGHT!
Yeah but re-selling counterfeit software is a big problem over there. During December I was trying to find a good price on UT 2003 and found copy after copy for $15 from Singapre. Only came with the disc and install code. No box or instructions "to save on shipping costs" they said. SHA RIGHT!
Isn't Japan and China and the surround areas notorious for software piracy? I mean...if they are already stealing commercial software and using/selling it, why would they give a crap about open source? Sounds like a big coverup!
Reminds me of the old days when a floppy would go bad. Remember when you were ENCOURAGED to make backup copies to play from and store away the original disks. I had a few games where that was written in the instructions.
I think the Atari Jaguar should get honorable mention here. I bought one off Ebay, along with several games, and it was just junk. Brand new games wouldn't work right, it would crash. It reminded me of some of the really poorly programmed DOS games that came out back in the days when Windows was really picking up speed.
And what about the NEO-GEO? A system with $200 games? Yeah, right. At least you can go find the ROMs for free if you dig hard enough.
Oh yeah, and anything the RIAA does makes sense? They keep pushing crap like Britney and Whitney and wonder why nobody wants to buy CDs any more...what do you expect?
Why don't they just not allow lawyers on Ebay? Wouldn't it make things much smoother?
I've had problems with kids getting on there and bidding up on video games then not paying and later leaving negative feedback just because they don't care about their new account. It happens. I've got over 150 positive feedbacks and 2 negatives. You won't see me crying about it.
The game completely sucks anyway. I played and finished it on Windows and had no desire to go any further. The interface is clumsy, you only control one person, the graphics are choppy, and it just isn't very fun.
Then imagine a bunch of halfwits trying to make custom levels for it, and you get a slew of buggy unfun modules.
It was a nice try, but they could have done so much better.
AskJeeves.com is still up and running? Do people actually use this gay Mr. Belvedere ripoff? I mean...if you are going to copycat something, why do a crappy 80's sitcom about an English butler?
I always thought it was because the networks cancelled She's The Sheriff and Step by Step, and people got tired of having to stay up late just to see the Thighmaster commercials.
What is really sad is that in the very near future, we may all actually NEED one of these things. Think about that for a minute. Ever played the Fallout games? Better start stocking up on ammo.
I discovered The White Stripes and several other indie bands months before they hit MTV by going to Amazon.com and looking at some people's custom lists. You can listen to samples of the music on their site, and I found a lot of new and good bands to check out.
I was born in August 1976, and I do remember going to see Empire Strikes Back at the theatre. I remember it because there was this kid from my daycare in there as well. I remember thinking "NO!" when Vader broke the paternal news to him. I was @ 4 then, I think.
Don't bring those stupid raver kids into this. They should all die.
Why doesn't the RIAA hit all the bootleggers on Ebay? Those are the guys who really piss me off, trying to charge 30 bucks for a CD-R of low-quality concert footage.
That is extremely cool of them!

Oh...and all this time I thought it was what happened to Britney Spear's boobs when she jumped around too much.

Well you know, it DOES give us something to complain about. If it weren't for Microsoft's behavior, there may have never been Linux.

I give...which Midway title is it? I knew and loved quite a few of them.

Total Sweetness!
My first computer was a ROM 03 IIgs. It had a 3.5 and a 5.25 and a full 1.2 megs of ram! Woo hoo! No hard drive or modem, though.
What do you use yours for?
I see them on Ebay selling for less than what it costs to ship.
