Please correct me, if I'm wrong, but the point of the summary is that they set them up in high tax locations, often times, but they set up "fake" offices in zero tax areas to avoid the taxes that they really ought to pay.
If 99% of your workers are in a taxable location, then the corporation is benefiting from the taxable location. Therefore, the company ought to be pay taxes in a taxable location. Corporations are persons too, therefore they ought to pay taxes where they live and do business, just as we do.
That's amazing stuff. It all seems so small in the grand scheme of the war, but the average doesn't go through anything like that. The average person doesn't even go through anything like basic training, which is actually quite safe.
I really wonder what I'd be like if I were there. Would I be able to tell stories like this over and over again? When I'm healthy and normal, I would, but who knows what I'd be like after fighting.
Never mind about the details of the concentration camp. I forgot that you wrote, "Well all I can tell you...". Thanks, though, for all the information that you did give.
Are you talking about the episode, "Why We Fight", when they first discovered the concentration camp?
I suppose that covers it, but I personally feel that as graphic as it is, it is too sanitized. It's not that I want to see all the gory details. It's just that it is hard to know exactly how bad it was.
I really want to write a story about this, since I'm an aspiring novelist. Are you able to flesh out details of the concentration camp?
Unfortunately, I don't have any stories to tell. My grandparents on my mom's side burned all their photos, except 2 of them, so that the Japanese wouldn't think that they were Chinese. That is the furthest back that my history goes on that side. My dad's side is quite vague. It follows the Christian lineage, and the education, but that is about it.
I was in the Canadian Forces, but it was more of an experience in bureaucracy, and I was not a good solider.
Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if they removed way more than that. The graph goes up every now and then. He explains that it is because more useless code was revealed.
That information about the rations and the new recruits was very interesting. I have never heard of such a thing. They ought to make a movie about those recruits. Just bringing that bit of information to the masses should make a good impact.
You are talking about gaming the system? That's kind of what i was thinking too. I wondered if there would ever be a system that would detect laziness, because if I knew that the machine could change questions to adapt to me, then I might recline a little more and stop trying.
Yeah, I think that I know what you mean. My provincial representative is pretty much opposed to most of my beliefs, but the fact that he kept in touch with me personally, and even tried to organize several meetings on issues that I raised, shows me that he is doing his job. I tend to vote for him as payback.
Your suggestion is an example of what makes Slashdot great. I have no idea of what your political views are, because you were able to put them aside, and give us great advice.
Yeah, it makes sense. I realized that air could warm up, especially in the fixtures, but I was hoping that a snowy winter would be cool enough that it could maintain a cool temperature for the light. I guess not.
It's too bad. I am really excited about the progress of the technology, though.
Wow. I'm so surprised about the Mackenzie River question. Before looking up the map on Wikipedia, I was expecting the drainage area to be so close to the Hudson Bay, that I could have said, "Yeah, but it's close enough that you could have selected the desired answer.". Now that I have seen it, I'm thinking, what on earth are these people smoking?:^D The correct answer is so far away from any of those places, that I kind of wonder if the options were created while somebody was burning the candle at both ends.
Some people might be demoralized by those types of questions, but I'm comforted, because it shows that, a lot of times, it really is the other person. A lot of times, we really can't do anything about it.
If I take a cheap LED bulb and use it as an outside light for winter, then will it still need heat sinking? I figure that the cold air would be cold enough to keep it lasting long. Would you/somebody comment on that, please?
Thanks for clarifying. I *skimmed* through that *thoroughly*, and I began to second guess myself. Near the beginning, I could not imagine how he would prove innocence.
I'd prefer that we add politics to the mix. There is something about Slashdot culture that won't work in other places. I find more insightful posts here. I also sense that this is the only place where people mod up opinions that we disagree with. I haven't done it much lately, but I do it sometimes.
I heard of Zimmerman outside of Slashdot, but I wanted to see what the community thought about it, and I did listen to both sides. Unless the court presents new evidence and witnesses, I think that I can have a very informed opinion, because the entire community presented a lot of views and a lot of claims and facts, which were very helpful.
You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him think. You can lead a fool to pure facts, but you can't make him think. You can lead a wise man to a pile of crap, but he is still able to sort out the facts.
I say all of this, knowing that I don't know your views on the issue.
That being said, I don't know where to draw the line, but I feel that we can figure that out.
Yeah, I met a guy, whom I respect. He came from South Africa. He told me why he left, but I can't remember the details. It was probably because his parents brought him along, and he was of school age.
He told me that it was very comparable to Canada, in that it looked nice, and it was one of the more prosperous places in Africa. He did mention some bad stuff, but that was because we were having a well rounded discussion. I don't think that we discussed how peaceful the situation was, but I recall thinking of it as quite good.
If I were offered the opportunity, I would visit SA. I don't want to bash America, but contrast that with travelling in America. I've got nothing to hide, and I respect authorities, but I don't like the idea of being spied upon, and treated with disrespect. I get the sense that I will be treated as guilty until proven innocent. Whereas in SA, I get the impression that I will be treated with basic respect in basic situations, and that's all I need.
Of course, I could be wrong.
No doubt, because he spoke highly of his home country, I have the impression that splitting SKA between both countries might be a good thing. It could make it easier for both countries to form cultural bonds. It could also help SA to shed the bad parts of its reputation.
It's amazing that several of us don't believe in imaginary property, but we fully support imaginary persons.

I just thought of a question. Did he tell you what camp he liberated?
Again, wow.
I really wonder what I'd be like if I were there. Would I be able to tell stories like this over and over again? When I'm healthy and normal, I would, but who knows what I'd be like after fighting.
Thanks, man.
Hi again.

Wow...that's impressive.

That's exactly what I was thinking. It is so convenient that a great review came out, and the reviewer just happens to be anonymous.
"intuitive" is explained in Physic 301.

If they are going to do that, then the game makers should go a step further, and try to make the silenced trolls respond in an Elize-like way.
After all, if I try to communicate with somebody, and then he responds to me a in canned, but humourous way, then I might get a chuckle out of it.

I see. Thanks for the explanation. It's too bad that quality lights are still expensive.

Hi.
I asked the following question to the above person. I want to ask you, in case you won't see it.
Would a cheap LED bulb be affected by a lack of a heat sink in winter as an outdoor bulb? Shouldn't the cold air be enough?
Hi.

I wish that the article had mentioned the extra costs, and given an estimated life of the telescope.
An extra million might not be that big of a deal, if it can be spread out over many decades, and if it fosters better communication between nations.
Also, if the million were split between 2 nations, and if the half package still brought in a net gain, then they can't complain.
