    I agree and would like to add to that.

    What about people with Downe's Syndrome? They have different genetics. They can be smaller than us. They can have simplistic reactions to pain. How can we know that they experience pain?

    You are saying that they can feel safe, but not pain?

    A lobster can only move so quickly, so I'm not surprised that it resorts to trying to swim. How else could it move away quickly? Their bodies have a limited range of movement, so their options are limited. They can't exactly move their heads to look around to weigh their options, right?

    I agree with what you say. I'm more concerned about whether or not they make a strong effort to be unbiased. If they state their biases, and show where they are biased, then that's not a problem.

    It's like warning labels on products. I won't criticize the manufacturers for mistakes. I criticize them for negligence.

    When I taught English in China, the staff kept telling me that they never checked their email. They all used QQ. I asked about it, in depth, and it seems that they only check their email every few weeks, if they check it. It seems that it is considered professional to have an instant messenger number.

    Cool. I heard that we are allowed to set them up without permission, if they produce less than 10 kilowatts. Have you heard of the 10 Kilowatt Project? I was going to give you a link, but I couldn't find it.

    Wow. That was amazing. I read the page that you linked to. I heard about the garbage and wondered about it, but now I know. Thank you for showing us this.

    Personally, the only way that I can think of, to deal with it is to collect it, and burn it at sea.

    Frankly, I think that they should make all plastics compostable, unless there is a reason to not do it. I think that most plastics don't need to last more than a year.

    Alberta (province) is packed with wind turbines. I've also seen them where I live, on Vancouver Island. (in BC)

    That's awesome news. Are people allowed to go and see the wind turbines on Vancouver Island? Where are they?

    I don't understand why "To Kill A Mocking Bird" is banned. It should be required reading, or at least require students to watch the movie. Maybe I need to watch it again, and read it, too. It seemed like a great movie.

    I keep hearing about "Catcher In The Rye". I should take time out for that, as well.

    I understand what you're saying, and now that you wrote what you did, I understand what the politicians might be thinking, but if digging and filling holes is so good, then why don't the politicians just blindly dumps billions in public transit or paying off the debt?

    Yep. Our family had to give the bride's family a pig and some other stuff. They gave us absolutely nothing.

    I believe that both families should give money towards a home for the new family.

    In case anybody is wondering, the situation was my brother, from a Fukian [correct sp?] background, married a girl, from a Cantonese background, and her grandmother was the only person insisting on a tradition that nobody else cared about. I can't remember what the cost of the pig was, but it was a lot. We aren't a wealthy family. Both the bride and groom were born in Canada, and none of them really cared for tradition. Her parents were really down to earth, and didn't care either.

    Yeah. I think that I understand you. I read down through several posts, and I see what you are saying. I guess that the problem with /. is that it's hard to keep track of what everybody believes, and thus, it makes it hard to see what each person is really saying.

    It stresses me out when any country continues to bail people out.

    It's bizarre. If it's worth subsizing or bailing out, then let the free market subsidize and bail.

    I bought a N96 from China, in Sep. or Oct. 2008. The Mini USB doesn't charge, as far as I can tell. I have a seperate hole in the phone for charging. It can be connected to the computer's USB port, but the phone's Mini USB port doesn't allow charging as far as I can tell.

    By the way, my N96 doesn't have Wifi. I don't think any of the Chinese Nokia phones do. Can somebody confirm this?

    I'm impressed also. I'm impressed at how well rounded your view point is, as well. Most people seem to worship Franklin, the constitution, etc. You seem to have studied it for what it's worth. I like that.

    I think that I understand.

    Imagine sticking a pencil into the back of a guy's head. Now imagine how you would move the pencil to make his head rotate right on its axis. You would move the pencil left. Move the pencil down to look up.

    I'm not saying that I agree with it, but that's probably the logic.

    I wasn't really intent on referring to black people when I said that. He mentioned the term and racial problems. I assumed that he meant poor black, but still. Where I come from, there are racial issues, but they aren't as serious, and the lines aren't so clearly divided on race. In other words, you'd see a lot of white poor people, where I live. I assume that there are a lot of poor people of my colour, but I don't know where they live. Honestly, I was just using the term that he used so that I could cut to the chase.

    I wanted him to elaborate on which issue came first. In some parts of the world, I bet crazy shop owners would actually close the shops, as opposed to giving the "ubran populations" a chance.

    I agree to your solution. It's almost pointless to talk about who started what. At this point, people are going to have to move forward, and all parties are going to have to do something to make peace.

    Okay, I'm not doubting the racial issues. I'd like to know more, though. Did they shut the shops, due to perceived problems, or were there actual problems with the urban populations?

    Somebody just gave the traditional phrase without any written judgements. It benefited me, as a reader. You seem to be judging that person's intent without knowing anything about him. I just assumed that he was making a correction for the writing, but you assumed the worst.

    Actively engaging the mind's critical thinking capacities is hard. I find that true for myself. I can see it in my students too.

    I teach English as a second language, and I can see a world of a difference between those who actually participate and try to learn the language, and all the others. "All the others" is composed of people who just don't get it, and those who aren't really interested.

    I must admit, though, that a lot of it has to do with me. I'm sure that I could find better activities for them. I just wish that I could find those activities.

    I'm not worried about anything. I'm just sharing a situation that I found surprising. The idea is that some animals can survive on vegetables, to some degree, even though we typically believe otherwise.

    Just so that everybody knows, I wouldn't be surprised if she fed the dog some actual dog food, and some meat scraps. I don't know. I'm just surprised that the dog appreciated the taste for apples.

    Thanks for the information about cats, though. That's interesting stuff.
