I ordered quake 3 arena for linux from lokigames on tuesday to give to myself for xmas. 2 day fedex didn't make it here by friday. Too bad, I wanted to use it at the lan party tomorrow. I'll have to use windows instead.:-( Come on nvidia and xfree! My riva needs the drivers you've promised!
you can't get 60 fps displaying to a television screen...the NTSC standard in north america is fixed at ~29.7 fps and the PAL standard in europe is 25 fps. Until game consoles display to htdvs, they won't be able to compete with the frame rate of 3d accelerated computer games.
wooohoooo!!! i wanna go! for those of you who have never been to cedar point, its been rated several years in a row the best amusement park in the world. Holds guiness world record for the most rides in one park, the most roller coasters in one park, and highest vertical ride. Next year it'll have the world record for tallest, fastest, etc, etc steel roller coast once the Millenium is finished being built. Sign up!!!! I hope I can get there inspite of school. Go CLUG and NEOLUG!
i'm pretty sure the next version of Xfree86 (version 4.0) supports pluggable drivers-from my understanding, there is one X server and drivers are loaded into it to interface with the hardware. I don't know the licensing issues with binary only drivers though.
The UN has no jurisdiction over this matter. What's it going to do? Pass resolutions condemning me if i violate there little rules? Perhaps they'll send peacekeepers or white cars with UNSCOM license plates to my house?
