    Dont know what your problem is I have been using Vodaphone since the BellSouth Days (1998), and found it is extremly rare to have a message not arrive.

    We do know why cells like these and other immortal cell lines live forever.

    Without going into unnecessary detail, basically it is because the cell gathers several mutations, which screw up certain controls on the cell cycle. Thus the cell is eternaly in the 'growth phase'

    I am from New Zealand (Although not Maori), and can assure you that the vast majority of Maori people don't give shit about this sort of thing.
    As usual is is a small vocal minority claiming they speak for the majority

    The article talks about the very old dates being affected (like 50,000 yo) No scientist aware of the limitations of the method would quote dates older than 30k yo without further verification. Typically these are backed up by further methods such as thermo-luminesence, and stratification.

    Actually just taking a break from my study of this topic to read /. !!!

    Basically there are two ways:

    1. Insert new DNA into the genome that codes for the gene you want. This gene is used as normal by the cell. Mostly this is achieved by infecting the cells with a specially constructed virus.

    2. Inject genetically transformed stem cells, which gradually replace or supplement your current cells.

    But in reality our practical knowledge of such method are in their infancy and such gene therapy techniques are still a few years off yet.
