Regarding the inferiority of cd's, is there anyway to expand on the current format of cd recording technology, to make it even better now? Or is it the space limitation of the cd that makes them inferior to analog?
When audio is released on DVD's will we get "ultimate quality"?

    Just wondering.

The auction marketplace is also selling driver's licenses for $150, birth certificates for $150, Social Security cards for $100, and credit card numbers with security code and expiration date for between $7 and $25. I wonder if any idiots actually used their own credit cards to purchase a stolen credit card number?
What a great way to harvest additional numbers!

Me too! I've played Quake2 in the Cave, and it's really intense. I saw the Quake3 graphics demo on the wall, and I've never seen a sharper picture in my life. As for those wondering about the cost justification.... It's research! They need very little of that. www.lan-fest.com

  9. CAVE Quake2 and Visbox on High-End VR QuakeIII Arena · · Score: 1

I run a local Lanparty here in Champaign-Urbana, and Paul always gives our group a tour of the technology over at the NCSA. Quite facinating! It should be noted that Paul's CAVE Quake2 Engine is in many regards better than the original. One unique aspect that stands out in my mind is are the hit boxes. You can actually shoot a rocket between an enemy's legs! The newer CAVE that's being built at the U of I is HUGE in proportion to the older caves (20' high walls, if I'm not mistaken) Can't wait to see that. Paul's Visbox (or home CAVE version) will definatley be an amazing machine as well. He's scheduled to demo it at LanFest 6, (www.lan-fest.com) , so if you're into large lan tournaments, and would like to see both the CAVE and the Visbox prototype, check us out! There's also some cool CAVE pix on the site, from the 5 walled and the single walled machines. -subghandi insert witty sig here
