I have found many uses for my iPaq. It's a b/w one so it has longer battery life than its color counter parts.. I thought I'd be using it as a scheduler and task manager, but it required too much discipline.. maybe some day I will get around to use the feature. But it's pretty useful to use it as:
* a contact manager(wish I had better contact managing software though, pocketpc one sucks..) * a mp3 player(with 256MG cf card and cf expansion) * a voice recorder(for quick memos) * a ebook reader * a note taker..(with stowaway keyboard, I can't type faster than I can write, and the result is more legible later..)
It has its shortfalls(like mysterious crashes.. memory wipeout when battery goes), but it's pretty good device to have.
If the start applying those transfer caps, it'd interesting to see what happens to all those SPAM. ISPs might be more pressured to do something about SPAMMERs.. I get hundreds if not thousands of SPAM every week; that must account for something.
google doesn't always work.. ever spent hours trying to find something using those search engines? the original poster must've been looking for some knowledgeable slashdotter who can help him/her solve the problem.
This type of "language transformation" and communication difficulty is also a big problem in South Korea, where children use IM services, chat rooms, and internet bullentinboards constantly. Difference is that they spell things in phonatically.. in a twisted way. that adults can't understand by reading it.
Schools in Korea are more strict in this sense.. and they don't give out much writing assignments so it's less apparent.
Mach number should be consistant. It's just a way to make the number more relevant.. I am assuming that the author of the article was using speed of sound at sea level not at 75000 feet because who cares what the speed of sound is at 75000 feet?
I bet someone will come up with a hack that lets you see only contents that's being censored...
I don't know about that...
isn't this supposed to be a joke right? why is it modded up as informative?
you gotta be kidding me...
I really don't want to hang around the Media lab all day.
Does anyone know what time the conference is going to be held?
