Even if their was a contract involved.. I'm sure is included getting paid... if they breach contract then the contract is null and void.. so they have nothing to do legal action with.. this is rediculous.
There is something in the US.. I forgot exactly what it is called.. but the essence of it is that you cannot be charged for a crime that was commited before the law for it was put in place. So you have nothing to worry about.
that's being stereotypical. for some people it has nothign to do with "values" and everything to do with "you're not human you sick fuck." It's a bad image and demented.
willingness to steal was the #1 reason napster became what it did. If someone came up to someone and said they can get them anything free with impunity you bet most people would be more than willing to accept the offer. Unless that RIAA pays you to listen to a CD, they can never beat the p2p price, and that is the problem.
since when was pirating considered fair use? seems to me that protecting your copyrights on something and preventing piracy shouldn't cause a problem.. after all, why would you need to download a song if you already have the CD, eh?
I find it surprising that no one has mentioned that if you ever REMOVE a song from the shared directory you have to either turn the unit off from the backside or unplug it before it erases that song from its internal cache. All the "refresh" button does is add new songs.. it doesn't remove old ones.
Hmm... I was gonna say something but I believed you just summed it up perfectly. Bravo!

New Xeons beat the shit out of athlons, there were MANY improvements made to the original p4 architecture for the Xeon. Next time do your research before making an uninformed post.
Since they stand to gain nothing from this other than some attention, I don't really think it matters much wether or not they alienate die hard ultima fans.
Reminds me of as time when a women stormed out of an ice cream shop I was in because the didn't want to decide what toppings she wanted on her banana split. When she asked the employees to just make a "regular banana split" they said, "We only have one, and you got to pick two flavors of ice cream and two toppings."
Apparantly this aggrevated her and she grabbed a card with the stores 800 customer satisfaction number and ran out.
And people wonder why linux hasn't taken over the world yet...
I also fail to see what being 5 years old and playing video games has in common.. I also fail to see how playing a game at all instantly qualifies as an obsession.
You sure do assume a lot about me... I hope you don't do that often to people, because that makes you the asshole.
I fail to see how me playing a video game negates me from doing anything else. According to what you have said, I can either play videogames, or I can do anythign else... what keeps me from making contributions to this rediculous society of ours AND playing video games at the same time. That thought ever crossed your mind?
What would you have us do, stop our entire lives because of that? If you are so bent up on feeling self pity for the rest of your life because of this be your guest, but don't try to talk everyone else into it. Some of us may not like the idea of terrorists succeeding in disrupting everybodies life so we don't let it happen. We will continue to live the way we always have. It IS possible to give blood and play video games at the same time.
However, I'd like you to tell us what you would rather us do. Do you want us to get up every morning, pray while surrounded by US flags for a couple of hours, go get breakfast, pray surrounded by US flags for another several hours, go get lunch, donate blood, pray while surrounded by US flags for another several hours, get dinner, pray for another several hours, then go to bed? Or maybe I wasted to much time eating...
Perhaps it is just me, but I like the idea of getting up in the morning, going to work, seeing friends, check the news for updates, etc. etc.
i.e. continue on with my life.
But then again, I guess I'm just an insensitive asshole.
Well put. I was going to reply to this post in about the same manner until I saw that you did it twice as good as I could have. Thank you for saving me some time =)
.. most "war on drugs" studies. Basically to sum it up it says "if you play games you are not learning, if you are studying you are learning."
What this guy is trying to say is that every minute we are NOT studying we are damaging ourselves permanantly. To tell the truth I'd rather have a SLIGHTLY violent kid that is social and has a life outside of a book than a completely benign kid who can't get his head out of that book.

You pretty much got everything right... but why do you consider this a bad thing?

All I've ever bought are Maxtor's... and they have never once failed on me.

Just kinda found that a tad bit annoying..

They already have an engine, why would they use another to port it? It would make a lot more sense to port it to SDL/OpenGL.

"Otherwise, the government is not functioning properly."
Tell us something we don't know. The government has been controlled by those with more cash than the rest of us for decades.
*yawn*

Haven't played many games in the past 5 years, have you?

haha that was a pretty decent episode =)
It's impossible to fly: This was never an informed speculation.
Faster than sound: This was more of a "can we keep the aircraft in one piece" than an is "it possible" problem.
Faster than light THROUGH SPACE: Has yet to be proven wrong concretely.

Just because a door is unlocked, doesn't mean you need to go in. I would have been pissed if you entered my house solely because my door was unlocked.
