If there is a problem with the Java version, can someone fix it?
Everyone here is all bothered that MS was able to work on their version, but that Sun wasn't asked to do the same for its version.
Sun can take both the code used in the.NET version and the code used in the J2EE version and compare them and THEN FIX IT.
If they choose not to do so, or are UNABLE to do so, then we know which is better FOR THIS PARTICULAR TYPE OF WEB APP.
Middleware did GREATLY improve the performace of the J2EE app, but there are obviously quite a few flaws in their design (from the comments). So someone who is pissed off about this should stop wasting their time ranting about it and correct the problem, then publish the code and the benchmarks.
-Yes, we do technical interviews and matching. (And we are developers with a great deal of experience, so they won't be as likely to blind us with @#!@%@... Have you ever dealt with headhunters? 1 in 1000 actually matches their candidates with the job. Most try to push candidates...) -Yes, we do schedule interviews. -Most importantly, ConsultUtah.com caters to Utah. We have been in business for 2 years and have been mildly successful. The old site was just a slashdot ripe-off that we tweaked to work as a job posting board. The new site is much more. -One more thing. We will NOT get your phone list at work and call from cubical to cubical...
I am currently completing the beta testing of http://consultutah.com's new site. (Mine)
I am a senior developer at a mid-sized company in Utah. As we were trying to hire people, we received millions of calls from "headhunters" wanting 25-35% of the person's first year salary!
I, then, started ConsultUtah LLC.
ConsultUtah.com will do the following: 1. Never give out your personal information to advertisers 2. When a company wants to contact you, you will receive an email asking if you want to give that company permission to contact you 3. We charge 10% of the person's first year salary (to the hiring company) and that percentage can be negotiated based on volumn.
Right now I am accepting emails addresses to notify you when we go live. (November 1st) You will only receive a single email from us, then our knowledge of your email address will be blown away...
Just yesterday I spent a great deal of time trying to figure out why our application that never leaked memory before was now leaking after a conversion to VC++.NET with/CLR.
The problem ended up being that while DllMain does get a call with DLL_PROCESS_ATTACH, it no longer gets a call with DLL_PROCESS_DETACH.
So if you are, like me, allocating global tables when the DLL loads and deallocating them when the DLL unloads, you've got problems!
The 7.5 month's includes everything EXCEPT landscaping. I am currently in the process of doing that now.
And, indeed, I would be responsible for repairing myself anything that I didn't spefically get in a contract to have under warantee. That is why contracts are so important.
After I heard that headhunters make between 25% and 40% on everything that they do, I started up a website to help people find jobs here in Utah.
I have a new version of the site comming out in a few days. The old version is just a modified phpwebsite script. The new version is a full recruiting website with job seekers, profiles, companies, affiliates and much more...
If anyone would like a copy of the code to start up their own, let me know.
He just wants to see if there really is a man in the moon...
I use Trig everyday, those 3D CAD programs are a pain! ;-)
Yes! Every business should have a website!
;-)
By the way, I am available for web development at a very reasonable price for asp.net, j2ee, php and coldfusion...

M$ has a tech that they call It Just Works (IJW) that, suprisingly, does!
.NET languages is a pain, but it DOES NOT require rewriting.
We converted 2+ million lines of c/c++ code to CLR in a matter of days.
Now, making some of those c++ classes interact with other

My company produces a 3D Architectural CAD package called Sketch that is available (in part) on SmartHomesite.com.
We have tried to make Sketch easy enough for your significant other to use. Let me know what you think...

Wow! Running into a bus full of cheerleaders is good for a thousand points!
Actually it does deal with improvements, though this is not the main purpose of the book.

I actually got better prices than all of my subs could get. There wasn't a one that could beat me...
And I even told the suppliers that I was an owner-builder.
"Bribing" the workers with food, drink, etc is actually mentioned in the book. And from personal experience, it works quite well...
Average savings is 35%. As mentioned in the book.
I'm building a new house, so I thought that The Owner-Builder Book would be a good read.

No, programming should not be taxed like manufacturing. Neither should manufacturing for that matter!
Oh, isn't that an infomercial?

Try reading Borland's previous "no-nonsense" licenses.
I think they should be given a chance to go back to that type of license without everyone blowing up again.
