I remember hearing about the Airbus crash where the test pilot was strapped into an large passenger aircraft that had no way for a pilot to change anything; the test pilot made a bad decision that day.
When people are in Shock, they can do some interesting things. The difference at the end of the day is, "the decision I make, will it allow me to eat dinner?" In the event of a plane crash, the living will have made the best choice. And every landing you walk away from, is a good landing.
But something interesting is happening. I saw the plane bounce up about 1 wing span, and people lived? I'm use to hearing about how the bodies have to be recovered.
Maybe a new university that has colleges that specialize in grant writing? How about doubling the universities so that out of state kids can get a good education. How about the california students that slogged through the requirements to go to a UC school but can't get in, because the schools are full; because there are not enough facilities for them? How about hiring educators to teach the kids so that those kids can step into jobs? The job is a lot of work, I hope she's up to it.
Something that may cause Chancellor Janet to grin, just a little. The difference between the UC system, and that candy ass operation she headed in DC is that in California, the Tea Party is forced to do something it doesn't feel comfortable doing; think.
3D Printing is a new technology. CNC's are very well defined. Before CNC's one had to use humans referred to as "Precision Machinists." My question is, "how does one repair a cable on the Golden Gate Bridge?" How could a 3D Printer be used for that?
One can only imagine the frustration of Natural Disasters when they leave a path of ruin and destruction; that some machine(s) begin to rebuild immediately afterwards. That includes the unwashed dishes before the disaster.
My question to the PhD's is, "build a 3D printer that works with a hand full of dirt placed in some kind of hopper? energy is both wind and solar." Some kid in Egypt did it if that helps.
"racist?" Why don't we ask what the 2 dead chinese girls what they think of the usefulness of hierarchical culture. The left seat shouldn't be allowed to operate a toaster, let alone ANY aircraft. I don't blame the left seat, I blame the person(s) that put him there.
It would seem that taking the logic of the flight crew is in itself an uncomfortable predictable outcome.

I have found that a simple grin is more that enough to cause a tyrant to spin uncontrollably like a top.
I estimate I need 2 Zetabytes of storage for my porn. Can these folks build a a bigger disk?
I'm thinking that Facebook, and Googles business model is to hire more off shore 20-somethings when the old crop gets to about retirement age, 28.

I can't help but wonder if the folks building these 3D Printers haven't thought about using more than one print head to speed up production time?

Damn it! I spit coffee all over my keyboard because of your post.
I think if VW were to go production on this concept vehicle; Toyota, and Hyundai would start feeling like they're deficating peach seeds.
Lets think about this, "victumize a person who is hostile and has a gun, buy a group of people that do not have guns."

These sound like old timers from Facebook or Google.
One cannot help but wonder if out sourcing is becoming to expensive to maintain.
What the math of rules 1 and 2 look like?
Best response to an AC post I've ever read; thanks.
For those, we need a court set up to deal with that sort of thing
Really? And you know best for all of us?
The problem is that without the appropriate clearance,
So, which Judge are you calling a Traitor?
How does one make a Tyrant, or Coward uncontrollably spin like a Top? Grin.
Without Asimov's laws of robotics, the outcome will be more like R.U.R.
Which makes me consider, what would the code look like, today, that would be the 3 Laws?
I was surprised that it was NOT a robotics manufacturer.
No, "as is" is the warning label.
