Who will, in all likelihood, just rubber stamp what the machine tells them.

I think we've had enough citizen ire about sending out tickets from red-light cameras that we're safe from that happening. Currently in most jurisdictions, the ticket has to be reviewed by a police officer (well, meter-maid) who will have to appear in court to if the ticket is contested.

But, if you're actually are speeding all over town, you're still screwed.

Checks that used to be limited by manpower can be done on every plate that goes by, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
And anybody, local PD, FBI, NSA, your insurance company, pissed off $cientologists, criminals staking out people to kidnap, crazy ex-girlfriends, can have the ability to do so.

  9. Re:It's not the layoffs on Perspectives On the Latest IBM Layoffs · · Score: 2

It's a commentary made at the expense of Indian workers who, you know, just want to make a living, too.

If we're all thrown onto a level playing field (which actually isn't, given the disparity of cost of living and in-place infrastructure) and they can't cut the mustard , FUCK 'em.

That's not racist, that's judging everybody by the same measure and finding them woefully deficient for the task at hand.
Granted most of the actual misrepresentation is perpetrated by those hiring them.

I think this misapprehension comes from the idea that geeks work all hours and hence feed from vending machines at the office. The only problem with that theory is that I have never seen Twinkies in a vending machine, it's always some competitor's brand. You have to go outside, down the street and to the gas station to find Twinkies. Not very time-efficient at all.
