Oracle doesn't allow for open benchmarking for a very simple reason. VERY few people are good enough DBAs to tune Oracle properly to run at optimum performance levels. Somebody who just installs Oracle and trys to do benchmarks with the default install is going to get EXTREMEMLY different results than a professional Oracle DBA.
Dude, it's not an annoying pop up that doesn't close. And it only opens sometimes. Deal with it, dude. Without the voting, you wouldn't know which sites sucked, and which didn't.
Actually, I was hired to work for the US Gov't because of my experience with my porn site. They saw the quality of my work, and hired me because of it (and I even got 'Top Secret' clearance!)
Actually, yes, there is a LOT of money to be made. But that being said, it's not an easy business to run. There's a lot of competition out there. Like any other industry the 80/20 rule applies. 20% of all companies probably make 80% of the money. A lot of people give it a shot, but then back out when they realize that like anything else, it does take a LOT of work to make it profitable. People like Persian Kitty and Green Guy were average people who just persevered, and now they're millionaries. So yes, it's possible, but it's not easy. Trust me, it takes a LOT of work, a LOT of luck, and a little something different to make a buck.
Actually, we DO have our own content at http://ninenine.com/free_pics.asp. All of that content was purchased and licensed. As we continue to ramp up, we'll have more there. Yes, we have thousands of links to content on other sites, we DO NOT steal content. Just wanted to clear that up. Thanks.
Well, while I'm not saying that you're not worth what you're getting paid, I will say that a big reason that porn businesses (even on the web) stay profitable is because they generally keep a hard eye on the bottom line. Yeah, there's a lot of money flowing in and out, but you're not going to find a lot of porn people squandering it. While lots of dot-com companies like pets.com, and others blow their money on big salaries, and lots of marketing, porn people generally keep costs down. It's a mature, and very aggressive market that requires costs to be as low as possible.
It's a fact of life that porn is recession proof. It always has been, it always will be. While consumers' desires for other goods and services may ebb and flow, man's libido will never diminish. It's not news really, just reality.
Hey, man, not all porn sites do that. Actually, mainstream sites are starting to do that, but porn sites have tried that, realized that it pisses off the surfers more than it makes money, and they're starting to phase it out.
Hey, let me tell you, after a few hours, it doesn't matter whether it's porn or accounting. Work is work. It stopped being entertainment a long time ago for me.
Well, those are $0.03-$0.06 per UNIQUE clickthrough. And yes, the pay sites do pay $25-$40 per signup, generally, but signups are waaay down due to the abundance of good quality free porn out there. But yes, most porn sites are still profitable. That's because porn webmasters generally keep a sharp eye on the bottom line, and don't hire frivolous employees, and generally work long, long hours.
So? The number of drug users may appear to have been reduced because the gov't is putting pot smokers in prison for a long, long time. You could also reduce the number of drug users by shooting each one of them in the head. I don't think that that's a very good solution, either.
I want to be free to raise my children without having to have them exposed to drugs. Simple as that.
And I want to be free to raise my childen without having to expose them to people like you. But I don't suppose that the gov't is going to start a 'War on Fundamentalist Brainwashed Zombies' any time soon. Simple as that.
Right. Sue all bullies. Sure. Much better. They should've known, that by taunting those kids, they would've directly caused the death of many people. Sure.
Apparently, you could use with a quick lesson on 'sarcasm'. Here's the defintion:

No, of course you can't be truly anonymous. Somebody always can track you down (your ISP, at the very least). But, what do you care? 99.9% of all Net users have no reason to be paranoid. Nobody's going to waste their time to track down average Joe user. What's the point. Unless your wealthy or hooked up or some kind of criminal, you really don't have anything to worry about not being anonymous. What are you afraid they're going to find out about you?
The only reason that that came out of Russia is because Russia is all abot pirating software, stealing software, music, whatever. It's not so much that they're into freedom. They're all criminals over there. I'm dead serious. I have a good friend who's a lawyer over there, and he says that you have to bribe EVERYBODY just to keep the mafia off of ya'. You think it's any reason that so many true crackers are from Russia/E. Eurpope? It's because they're so damn broke, they have to steal everything. Life is rough over there.
Dude, I was responding to the post about there not being any community support for ASP. My point is that there's HUGE community support for ASP. Who was talking about whether or not it's a language? And, on top of that ASP IS platform independent. Ever heard of Chilisoft ASP. And why is platform independence such a big idea, anyway? Most people don't suddenly decide to change server platforms in the middle of a project. That's generally decided a long time before the project is started, so platform independence is usually a moot point.
Dude, just from your exmaple, I can tell that you're not a a professional. Only kids put SQL right in their ASP. Have you ever heard of... gasp... a "stored procedure"? That's where SQL statements go. Or, how about a "COM object". You can put your SQL statements in there too. And are you serious? The ampersand is too much for you? You can't concatenate a string? That's a pretty silly reason for not using ASP.

That means so much coming from an AC.

but really it can't look good on a resume

Amen, bro. I wish I had some mod points for you.

Be free, man! This is Slashdot! You can say 'bullshit', 'fuck', or 'juicy teen asian lesbian cumsluts' all you want! Hooray for Slashdot!

Pray.

Drugs kill
Damn. I didn't know that. I should be dead by now.
Right. Sue all bullies. Sure. Much better. They should've known, that by taunting those kids, they would've directly caused the death of many people. Sure.
Dude, actually, I think the spelling of the word you were trying to type is "Bullshit".
You're right. I'm totally opposed to porn. It's wrong.
