    Good tasting kool-aid isn't it?

Deep down, you know your argument is a wash. This is Disney we're talking about. It's not like they haven't made any new characters or new movies. They make money off of selling characters to be stamped onto anything that can be sold to children. Allowing others to use those characters to sell exactly the same crap isn't innovating anything, it's just helping the dumb people who can't come up with ideas on their own.

I think you would be extremely hard pressed to find any intelligent innovative person saying that the only thing holding them back is copyright. Copyright protects you only from people who don't have a product themselves.

Now, if you redefine innovation to mean 'distribution of wealth to those lacking the means to come up with a novel idea' then yes, copyright is hurting innovation.

Like I said, when programmers aren't as infantile in their mental capabilities like you, then we won't have this problem. Until then, we'll have a small group of individuals creating their own systems in lisp that just work, and the vast majority of programmers exchanging little bits of scaffolding trying to overcome the restrictions that their language of choice imposes because the language creator understood something about the vast majority of programmers :)

They have parental controls, quite a slew of them, all available as options. Your reasoning is stupid and wouldn't survive a court of law. It's called broadcasting. Whether or not someone at Nintendo misunderstood the broadcasting laws from Germany and that they shouldn't apply to digital downloads, or to all of the EU, is another story. Perhaps videos are multi-casted to preserve bandwidth, or games torrented, in which case the broadcast laws do apply and they are legally obliged to implement this strategy. Perhaps they're only implementing a blanket ban in the EU to get the WiiU to conform to the laws to have a successful launch. Perhaps, they'll later divide the EU into smaller restrictive sets, or fix it so it only applies to child accounts (it may or may not already, there seems to be confusion around this).

If you have to wonder why, you're obviously not very good at wondering.
