I guess I am the only one, but I like Gnome 3. I prefer it over Gnome Classic and Unity. It's not slow, it looks good, I got all the features I want.
Gnome 3 has become better for every release, and I like it! And every Ubuntu-install I do to friends and family, ie no-tech people, have no problems with it. I just have to learn the to use the Windows-button on the keyboard.
If not, consider Mikrotik. I used OpenWRT, DD-WRT and the rest, but none of them was as good as Mikrotik. It's simply an incredible list of features the box and OS gives you, and you can easily configure it via WinBox (Wine or Windows) or simply via SSH. They have a range of products from 10/100 routers to a 9-port 10/100/1000 router/switch (see link below), where you can attached up to three wireless-cards.
I do work with network security (that is, I monitor clients traffic on a network, looking for suspicious traffic) and I can tell you that Bittorrent is not the way people get virus/malware today. Neither is it via the network (a worm), and seldom via e-mail.
It is by visiting a website, which contains malware via Flash, Iframes and/or Ads. A so-called drive-by. This usually happens either by someone linking to a "dangerous" website in Facebook, Twitter or a public forum and saying it's a funny video of some kind. Or a popular website has gotten an Ad from a 3rd party where the Ad contains some dangerous Flash-code.
As long as you do not run the latest version of Firefox/IE/Adobe Flash/Adobe Acrobat Reader and you are at the wrong site at the wrong time, you get infected! And sometimes the latest version of that software is exploitable too.
Where did you learn all this? Do you have some useful links? I would like some more information about this topic, and more information how your script actually works.
So I installed it, it did work without any problems, watched some movies at youtube.com and saw some flash-ads here and there.. But now what? Give me some good sites where flash really shows what it's good for!
1. Take your phone. Make a distribution-list which includes everyone on your phone capable to recive textmessages. (say 100 people)
2. Write a large sms. As you might know, one sms can contain 160 chars. So when you type a sms over 160 chars, it will be seen as two sms. Write one big sms (that really count as four).
3. Send this one to the distribution list: You have know sent 400 sms in just a few minutes.
4. To be sure they all got it, resend it!
5. Reply to everyone that answers, and resend again to they who don't anser!
It might just take you three minutes to send almost 1000 smses. Good luck!
Does anyone have a good tip on what backup-program/script to use? I only have a CD-RW, but I only need to backup some 2-500 Mb. The important issue is the verifying bit, so I know my restore will work. Are there any good backup-programs/script you would recommend, thats open source?
A bit offtopic, but...
Every time/. has a story about some browser they *always* write that they use Konqueror! Yes, it is a great browser and yes, we should know about alternatives, but c'mon.. We know already!
So everytime you mention MS and/or Windows, you will go "Yeah, but I use Linux. It is great!" ??
If you use _insert-web-browser-name_, post it in a comment, and get modded down!

If you _must_ have OpenWRT, you can stop reading.

(I do not live in the US, so I do not know the prices, but it's defiantly a big bang for the buck :-))

But are you open source? If so, I can send you a patch..
And guess what? Even if you are open source, it's really SCOs' code. It's true!

I've read here on /. that Nvidia were going to say something about their (upcomming) Linux drivers these days. So I'm just waiting.
But, on the other hand, as we all know.. It can take weeks. Even months....
And I hate to wait...
