There would be wails of anguish and much gnashing of teeth.
And probably posters on the wall reminding people to make sure their Last Will and Testament is in order.
Seems like when they do finally clamp it, it might be a good idea to clamp it as close to the mother as possible. Let the kid still absorb whatever is in the cord.

3. If the actor in question is making a concerted effort to pull society toward his religious/political stance, yes. If he had the exact same beliefs, but felt no inclination to tell others to believe the same, I wouldn't have a problem with him.
