Yeah, it may be designed for industrial strength but that doesn't always make it great. I have a dishwasher that has stainless steel internals as well as one of those excessively huge commercial stainless steel refridges (cafeteria type ones). And the dishwasher craps out all the time and the refridge overheats. It seems the assumption was that it's industrial and stainless steel, it must be good...

Just because something looks cool and is industrial doesn't always mean it's what it's cracked up to be...

Typically Bush stances have been modded down (but we won't get into that). On to the point, Bush seems to take a very laissez faire approach to how the government should approach the internet, which is good.

Governor Bush recognizes that our new economy is driven by the hard work and creativity of men and women in the private sector -- and not by Government bureaucrats.

I don't know about you but I'm rather sick of having the government meddle in my affairs as it is. Unfortunately he also seems to support MORE H1-B visas, which doesn't necessarily agree with another point of his to raise education in order to allow US citizens to meet the demand.

The high tech industry is in great need of highly skilled workers. Too many Americans are unable to fill these jobs because they lack the necessary skills.

However overall (apologies for a link to a homepage), he seems to be very technology oriented especially from what I saw in the last debate, as opposed to Gore that proposed filtering 95% of content at the ISP end.

However, I'm all about exploring both sides of the issues so to present both sides.

It's all part of society's attempt to "pass the buck" when it comes to placing the blame. It seems that in this day and age, it's never anyone's fault for what they did.

Guy- "But officer I was only speeding because my parents were usually speeding when I grew up. It was a bad influence on me."

Officer- "Okay, you're free to go."

Take the Columbine (sorry to resurrect something like this) situation. The media looked for a convenient scapegoat. It was the evil computer games they played and that horrific music. Give me a BREAK! Listening to music and playing GAMES, major emphasis on the word game [which Webster defines: Game- activity engaged in for diversion or amusement] doesn't make me want to go out and beat the crap out of people or worse.

When it comes to something like that, or for things in general it comes down to being the parents responsibility to raise they're children properly. Parents, take an active role in your child's activities. Don't just "pass the buck!"

Dominguez has been working with the Zapatista rebels in Mexico since 1994 to develop nonviolent direct-action tools and spread information about conditions in Chiapas, a mountainous state in southern Mexico, where for the past five years the Zapatistas have clashed with the government.

"I want to bring the net.hacker, net.activist and net.artist into a dialogue about what we can leave to the future for those without a voice and without power -- something the Zapatistas can teach us all," Dominguez says.
This is just a small excerpt from a larger article on CNN on how the web is used to expose conditions and issues which certain "groups" have to deal with. In all essence the Web can be a very effective tool if used properly.

Let us take a simple example (forgive me for trying to remember high school biology- back in the day yo) of 1 trait. You set up a simple block diagram and you see:

Wow! in this case he would have only a 50% chance of getting the "disease" assuming the disease was on the y chromosome. Hmmm? Are we learning?

Would it not be reasonable to hire people who were from the US and thereby further build up the future tech base by training people who would be able to make contributions later?
