  1. Re:BYOS on Ask Slashdot: Cloud Service On a Budget? · · Score: 1

Your math is off just a little bit there.

    60sec * 60min * 24hours = 86400 seconds in day

    86400 seconds / 5 seconds = 17280 pictures

    17280 pictures * 5 MB = 86400 MB

Or roughly 84.5 GB which should lower the bar even more for that 100Mbps connection.

I would assume you meant to say 'sign with your private key'. As noted above, encrypting with the private key so everyone can decrypt it would be pointless. However, if it was signed, it still serves are purpose as you could be ensured of the author of the message.

If you really wanted to encrypt the content of the message between parties you would always use their public key to encrypt, then only they could decrypt with their private key.

Obviously 'Mike Perbix' was upset that a student was eating/using 'Mike And Ikes' and Mr. Perbix was not getting a fair licensing deal for using his name sake.

This should be resolved as soon as the likeness licensing is settled. I predict a large payout for Mr. Perbix.

    Dear Editors,

I am writing today specifically to request that the phrase "don't just not work" be banned from this site. This phrase is ridiculous and utterly confusing. Even expanding it to the root words of "do not just not work" does little to help.

The English language is mutilated just fine without needing extra help by poor editing.
