    It's also worthwhile to remember that while Jobs is certainly the credit-taker, there's no evidence that Apple's best achievements were Steve's personal accomplishments.

    Of course for Nintendo, it's not all about the hardware. What about all the Nintendo brand games like Pokemon? Don't expect them to be available on Apple hardware anytime soon. Nintendo's profits on one Pokemon title is probably greater than Apple's cut from 1000 app store games.

    Perhaps I misunderstand you, but if B represents figures from the unemployment office it's impossible to go from C to B. You can't just sit around for months before applying for unemployment and you can't get back in once you've stooped looking or once they've decided you've had enough (and those extensions don't apply to everyone).

    Well, I make a distinction between what Republicans say and what they believe. I seriously doubt that Republicans are going to cry over a tobacco tax if the other taxes are reduced.

    Sounds like he got a bit carried away when he said "not any of your taxes". Nevertheless, if he keeps his pledge with respect to income tax, payroll tax, and capital gains taxes, most people will consider his pledge to be fulfilled.

    I don't believe that you thought he was referring to anything other than income taxes.

    But I'm not bothered because I avoid cancer dangers like smoking or exposing my body unnecessarily to UV light so I don't need any medical devices.

    That was never entirely true and it certainly isn't true now. Besides today programming languages aren't that big a factor in hiring. You need to have experience in the 10 frameworks, libraries, or technologies that a company has selected out of the hundreds available. You could try learning about those items, but it won't help - because the other companies have selected a different subset.

    I'm glad I started my career before integration and "glue" code replaced real programming.

    Tweaking Linux configuration options is a lot different than bending wires around. Wires break after repeated attempts, config files don't.
