Not to be the mouthpiece of evil, but I think the labels would say that your example kind of serves to underline their value as a promotional resource for performers? In other words, Cleopatra assumed the financial risk to back Genitorturers by fronting the money for both the album and the promotion of the album/band. That said, I think that this website/label will be great if they can attract the talent. It's perfect for about a billion talented garage bands that need a boost. The key will be to make somebody rich to prove that they can generate enough pie that a fifty percent slice is better than the crumbs the major labels throw at you.

Counter Strike is coming to Xbox. There are hundreds of indy games and mods for the PC. I can envision a system like movie releasing. An independant project that hits big on the PC gets picked up by "the studios" and ported over to the platforms for wider release. That's a good system. It means that the little guys have a shot, but it also limits the exposure of the big boys by enabling to pick up good stuff that's already somewhat proven.

This calling people commie bullshit has to stop. It's the lamest, weakest, least creative attempt to marginalize liberal/progressive ideas ever. It's funny because the whole notion of a one-party system and with witch hunts, purges and calling people traitors, etc... is much more akin to what went wrong with marxism/leninism than single payer healthcare.

Then there is, but it's it's all part of the circle of climate change that's been going on forever. Now it's because the sun is getting hotter. Does that mean, in the eyes of the denyers, that the Earth is, indeed, getting hotter? Or is the earth actually getting cooler thanks to us 'umans, but the hotter sun is compensating for the change?
