Not to be the mouthpiece of evil, but I think the labels would say that your example kind of serves to underline their value as a promotional resource for performers? In other words, Cleopatra assumed the financial risk to back Genitorturers by fronting the money for both the album and the promotion of the album/band.
That said, I think that this website/label will be great if they can attract the talent. It's perfect for about a billion talented garage bands that need a boost. The key will be to make somebody rich to prove that they can generate enough pie that a fifty percent slice is better than the crumbs the major labels throw at you.
I got almost no beef with SUVs in montana. An Escalade with spinner rims in LA is a completely different story. The only time those things go off road is when they bounce over the curbs at the airport.
Those were electric cars. The EV1 in particular, I think. It had nothing at all to do with the EPA and everything to do with the charger bursting into flames.
On the upside, Electric cars park free at meters in L.A.

This was so funny I peed my pants. Luckily I'm using Katheter the new QT based UMS (urine management system).
Counter Strike is coming to Xbox. There are hundreds of indy games and mods for the PC. I can envision a system like movie releasing. An independant project that hits big on the PC gets picked up by "the studios" and ported over to the platforms for wider release.
That's a good system. It means that the little guys have a shot, but it also limits the exposure of the big boys by enabling to pick up good stuff that's already somewhat proven.
because its illustrative of just how stupid a law it is. if major companies were as routinely screwed by this law as the little guy, the DMCA would be a memory.
What was he supposed to do, let the power go out? The guy was over a barel because of price fixing in the energy industry. It's not like he was in a strong bargaining position.
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ that's why it worked this time.
Yes. It is that easy to get the signatures. I did that job. You get paid a buck a signature and about 20% of people you ask sign without even asking what the petition is about.
Please elaborate. Do you mean that Sch* is some kind of clone of Teddy K, or that they are politically equivalent... or does it have something to do with their relationship through marriage? If family ties equal one of these == then I think George Bush == Gay.
This calling people commie bullshit has to stop. It's the lamest, weakest, least creative attempt to marginalize liberal/progressive ideas ever. It's funny because the whole notion of a one-party system and with witch hunts, purges and calling people traitors, etc... is much more akin to what went wrong with marxism/leninism than single payer healthcare.
All this deregulation is like training wheels capitalism. We deregulate critical industries like power and the airlines, they manage them horribly and then they bail them out. What's the motivation for any of these companies to perform? They can pillage their industries and then walk away and guys like Gray Davis look like the bad guys for stepping in and spending the money to pick the problem.

Look at the bright side. It provided you with an excellent chance to crow about Jesus.
That's because the blacks that the previous poster is talking about were prevented from casting their ballots. George Bush won a sketchy election in a sketchy way. What's more upsetting to me, and much less often talked about is when the right-wing shock troops invaded and occupied the building where the recount took place. If it were a criminal case, the chain of evidence would have been blown right there.
It's also possible that Carmack and the rest of the ID people make plenty of money doing things the way they do now. It's not like ID is gonna go broke releasing Doom III on all platforms and consoles.
What I don't understand about those who deny global warming is that the reasoning keeps changing. First they claim that there's no appreciable difference in the earth's temperature. Then there is, but it's it's all part of the circle of climate change that's been going on forever. Now it's because the sun is getting hotter. Does that mean, in the eyes of the denyers, that the Earth is, indeed, getting hotter? Or is the earth actually getting cooler thanks to us 'umans, but the hotter sun is compensating for the change? I just don't understand anymore.
This is the kind of shit people in the entertainment industry have been getting suckered into for years. "internships", deferred pay, millions of bucks around the corner... the deal's already set up. All you have to do is a little bit of work up front.
I'm teaching a "workshop" and YOU can be a part of it. All you have to do is pay me $150 and I'll let you show me your stuff. I'm connected to industry people, I swear it. I'm offering you a huge chance here... now where's the check.

No, but I'm saying it undermines his immigrant story and seriously hurts him with the Mexicans. We have a few of them in Cali.
Arnold was a big supporter of prop 187 which sought to deny services to undocumented aliens.

I've seen R.O.T.O.R., Abraxas and all three Watchers movies to name a few. Gigli is like Citizen Cane in comparison.
Sometimes they say "For forensic pathologist..." as well.

When I was a kid you actually had to commit a crime before arrest, trial and conviction.

What's awesome about your ppl is that companies can pay you more AND remain competitive because the government eats the cost of healthcare.

...or so I thought. Turns out the hardworking mindfarmers were actually growing minds without a license. An illegal mindfield. Can you imagine?
