I guess they're intending for people to plug their USB mouse into the keyboard or invest in a USB hub and a USB audio device if they want to do all of those things.
It's already being done.
The Communal Areas Management Program for Indigenous Resources (CAMPFIRE) program seeks to empower rural communities for conservation and sustainable development through harvesting natural resources. A majority of CAMPFIRE profits come from leasing trophy hunting concessions to foreign hunters. Foreign hunters who come to Zimbabwe pay large fees to hunt elephants, buffaloes, giraffe, lion, kudu and other wild animals. Over 60% of profits from CAMPFIRE are derived from elephant hunts. http://www.american.edu/TED/campfire.htmhttp://www.globaleye.org.uk/archive/summer2k/focuson/mars_pt1.html
Aren't several nations in southern Africa stockpiling ivory from elephants harvested in regulated legal hunts? IIRC, elephant populations are growing in those countries compared to those where hunting is banned and they are trying to get the ivory ban overturned. The simple reason is that the local population has a reason to protect the animals from poachers since they receive money and meat as a result of these hunts, but in other areas, they are considered government protected pests that tear up their fields and the locals really don't care if Joe poacher shoots them all.
The CE CAB file format is slightly different than the normal CAB format used by the desktop versions of Windows, so what is produced by those linux apps won't work on a CE device.
That's only if you have access to specialty markets. If not, the farmer would have to sell the grain to the ordinary grain elevator and sell it at the same price that everyone else receives. Of course if everyone switched back to organic methods the prices would go up due to supply going down. People are complaining about high grain prices now due to the idiotic idea of using feedstocks for biofuels, so I'd imagine that the outrage over that would be even worse. But that's not going to happen w/o some draconian global regulations. There's a reason modern farming methods were developed: to increase production.
But how many times have they used the emergency broadcast system to cut into TV & radio broadcasts for those events? They are just trying to bring that concept to other devices since not everyone is listening to radio or watching TV.
People sign up for the Amber alert things now, so I guess if they are planning on tier 3 messages being completely opt in, it wouldn't be any different. Some lawyers would love to have a crime as it happens news feed on their phones.
I have friends that do and one of their significant others died because of it. Getting stoned and falling 4 stories off a balcony isn't pretty. None of them are fit to drive after they get high or drunk - that's why I'm around to drive them back home.
Explain the situation with marijuana. No human being will ever be admitted to a hospital because of a THC overdose from smoking too much pot. It's just not possible to overdose on it, because you'll pass out long before it will reach toxic levels.
But you will still have people doing stupid things and injuring or killing themselves while high on pot. Being able to overdose on it shouldn't be the only measurement.
This is still ignoring the huge tar sand deposits under Utah, Colorado, and Wyoming. The US still produces a lot of oil, even if Pennsylvania doesn't any more. We just import a lot more of it.
Sounds like an opportunity for someone to create a process that would make it profitable to send ships out to these garbage patches, haul them back in, and reuse them for something else.
I had a busty cheerleader always asking me for help with computer & math/science related stuff in high school and whenever I helped, her response usually was "gee, thanks! I owe you a Coke."
I was really looking forward to the 20 year reunion a couple years ago. I figured that she owed me at least a case or two of Coke and given that she's now a district attorney, she could afford it. I was not pleased when she failed to show up.
or buy an old Mac mini.

Microsoft still updates the original XBox?
He's probably running knoppix or something similar.

Is the ISS now littered with piss jugs like when Ray was living in his old truck in the Sunnyvale trailer park?

But you need the professional version of Visual Studio to create CE apps.
Feral hogs are quite common in several parts of the US and Australia (Australia even has feral cattle). They will do OK if released into the wild.

Organic farming is nice if you're willing to accept the lower yields. Otherwise, everyone would be doing it like the used to.

Strip mining North Dakota and eastern Montana isn't going to kill many trees.

Otherwise all of this instant communication stuff is just another way for people to bother you at work.

I'll have you know that when I was in engineering school, I looked like a lumberjack. And that's OK.
I mean the "Sex Kills! Go To Tech and Live Forever!" bumper stickers weren't created just because they were catchy.
I've seen Datsun ads from the 70s for a car that supposedly got 44mpg. I think it was a b210, but not quite sure. It was a two door hatchback.
