When I visit my parents, I drive about 1000 miles and I only stop to get fuel and to use the toilet. With my current vehicle that's every 350-380 miles. The 200 mile range of the x-prize car is too short IMHO. They should try to make it 400-500 miles.

They already exist and are broadly categorized as beef cattle. You're thinking of dairy cattle. Do an image search and compare Angus, Herford, Charolais, Limousin, etc cattle to Holstien, Guernsey, & Jersey. This will give you a start http://www.ansi.okstate.edu/breeds/cattle/

but many sites often require you to have the latest & greatest version of flash to watch their little movies when previous versions would otherwise work just fine. This can pose a problem for some users when Adobe doesn't bring out new versions of flash for all platforms at the same time. Another thing I don't like about flash is that when you have multiple web pages open in multiple tabs, the stupid flash ads on each page are still running even though they aren't being viewed. I'm not sure if there is a Firefox extension or plugin to disable this feature or not. All the flash animations running at the same time really suck up a lot of cpu processing. At times, this can make the browser and everything else unusable.

I wouldn't count on that. Both of the major candidates on the Dem side are still leaving themselves lots of wiggle room on the issue and will probably continue to have US troops stationed in Iraq for years. McCain has said he won't surrender, so it's a given that no matter who wins, the troops aren't going anywhere soon.

The US & its allies never really controlled the countryside in a traditional sense before or after Tet because it would take more manpower than was politically acceptable.

That depends on whether the services doesn't something stupid such as offering 'lifetime access' for the cost of 4-5 months of their normal service. The only real difference between many of the sites are the user interfaces. They pretty much all try to restrict people to communicating within their little walled gardens and pretty much have the same set of losers trying to find someone (or see how many people they can ignore in the egomaniacs' case). People move from one site to another to see if their luck is any better and when their full access time is up, they move on to the next site. Like many things, it's not a problem with the site as much as it is a problem between the chair and the keyboard.

IMHO, a better way to judge different the different sites is by how much of a pain in the ass their UI is to use while you're wasting time and if they do any stupid shit like sending free introduction messages to other people w/o your knowledge. Another annoyance is sending PFO letters to senders of email when you delete the email from the inbox. Of course, the service tries to spin this as their way of trying to 'help' you. How helpful is it to make a person think that someone else is interested in them when they're not or getting emails that confirm 'you are not worthy of a response - GAFO'?
