  1. Snowdens comment on why this isn't exactly news on Snowden Would Return To US If Government Guarantees Fair Trial (thehill.com) · · Score: 2, Informative

Kind of amazing how every time I say this, it gets reported like it's the first time. It's been the same since 2013.

  3. Over $20k/month according to some calculations on The Pirate Bay — "Just a Very Large Hobby" · · Score: 1

    This was in 2006:

After several Swedish magazines attempted to calculate advertising revenues for Pirate Bay, Svenska Dagbladet said that the advertising revenues for the past four months reached 600000 SEK (84000 USD or 65400 EUR). This information was provided to the magazine from the advertising company Eastpoint Media. Svenska Dagbladet reminds that in reality even larger sums are involved. Pirate Bay operates internationally and advertising sales are therefore also international and being sold by more companies than only Eastpoint Media.

    Not too shabby.

    You are "welcom".

  11. Just like now on Civil Rights For Aliens? · · Score: 1

I'm guessing it's just like when you visit foreign countries. I enjoyed smoking weed in Holland, but I sure can't fire the ol' pipe up back here in Denmark. Doesn't really matter what morals you have or what laws your country/planet has, you'll have to follow local restrictions.
Handing over fines to a 7 feet tall, green monster with a ray-gun is another topic...

  13. Sega comments on What Do You Think Of The Delux DVD? · · Score: 1

    Hey

Maybe this is old news, but I asked a support
worker at Sega about this. Here's what he said:

I saw that system. Sega has not issues an
official release saying that we ok the product.
It is up to the user and buyer to make the wise
buying decision. You will have to ask them for
warranties since Sega is not responsible for that
    system.

  14. Issues on Collecting Logs from Firewalls to Detect Crackers · · Score: 3

Am I the only one concerned by this?

A few issues comes to mind:

    Forged logs
It's very trivial to fake logs to make it appear
that a attack originated from a specific source.

    Innocent traffic
I can't count the times I've been wrongly accused of
"port hunting" after looking for a service on a friends box.
Even a single ping can sometimes trigger a sites IDS
and mark my IP as a threath.

This may be a good idea, but without at least
    some background checking and auditing
of submitted logs, I wouldn't trust it one bit.
