I purchased the previously/. reviewed Code Generation in Action from Manning for half price. So far, I am finding this book to be a pleasant ebook to read, despite it being in pdf, which is due to the writing's conversational style. There are others who are enjoying this ebook and its half price availability. I don't think I would be as pleased if I were to read an ebook of something like A New Kind of Science. ebooks will only get better and become more available.
I know its not directly for Linux, but this piece of mail may you give you some help or direction. You may even get useful info from the author of the mail if you ask nicely.
>the dog unmasked as an alien aboard the mothership was great
Not just great, but amazing! Who would have thought that they could have possibly done anything more with the same ass Wassap idea? Not me, between the "What are you doing?" and the dog, they by far had the best showing. Now everybody (and their dog =) will be saying "What are you doing?"... thus making their one hit wonder a two hit How'd they do that.
I guess no more/. for those who sign up with this service, seeing as how/. has all sorts of articles that are pro-illegal activites... DeCSS, Napster...
We should lower the flag to half mast on this one...
With Java I was able to write myself a bus schedule App that runs from the command line, has a GUI version, and then I made a Java condiut to my Visor, with a waba app to check my schedule on my Visor.
All this without needing to know anything other than Java. Say what you want to say, but for me its easy, fast development, with apps that don't run much slower except for JVM startup (but seeing as how Netscape 6's startup time is 15 seconds, the JVM startup time appears negligable too =)
Plus... JDBC, Servlets, XML, SWING, Threads, everything about its design...
You can't argue with Java unless you just ignorant. You don't have to like to program with it, but you have to respect it.

your math is for only 2.5GB of mp3, but by taco's math he must have over 100GB of mp3 which means way more than 83s

Its funny, in some /. postings the FSF is villified, while others they are made out to be gods.
At least we all agree on one thing, M$ is EVIL!
