Matter of taste. "burnt" is just a darker roast that is preferred in most of the world. Starbucks isn't great coffee but it's not terrible either. All those that call it burnt just like a lighter roast. To me lighter roasts taste sour and disgusting. To each their own.
I never claimed I had a constitutional right to have free speech on Twitter. I just think it's cool to be in a community that does not "expressly deny" it.
I'm not against such places existing. They do exist and shall always exist. Twitter is perhaps too mainstream for a laissez faire attitude towards hate speech to be continued to be acceptable. They're losing more users than gaining because of it.
No one has right to free speech on Twitter. It belongs to Twitter. You have the right to hate speech in your home, you don't have the right to hate speech on the intellectual property of a company that expressly denies it. Never have.
Twitter has the right to censor what you say, so does Facebook, My Space, Slashdot, or anywhere else online.
You also have the right to start your very own Twitter alternative that welcomes hate speech if that is your prerogative.
You are somehow able to cherry pick a fragment out of a 20 second speech to make claims
If you go all day and only say one racist thing. You've still said something racist today. It doesn't matter if someone has an 8 hour long speech and only says one racist thing. They've still expressed a racist opinion. If you live to 80 and then rape a woman the police wouldn't be impressed if you told them "I'm not a rapist, I've gone 80 years without raping someone and you're cherry picking 2 minutes out of my life".
Now, if the phrase being quoted was used out of context (such as what was said before or after negating what was said and quote was used as an example of what was wrong) then that could be excused. The quote wasn't used out of context though. It meant exactly what it sounded like it meant. Therefore, I'm not sorry that he gets his racist sound bites reported upon, even if the racist comment is just 30 secs from a 2 hour talk- it's still a racist comment.
Twitter has the right to decide what they define as "hate speech" it's on their intellectual property that people are tweeting. As long as they're not breaking any laws, Twitter can do whatever the hell they want.
I have no doubt that the government has all sorts of information on me. However, I find it unlikely they have my gait in a database. I'm not saying you can't match a gait to a person, I know you can, I just doubt they have my gait on file, I also doubt a jury would convict based on a gait because I don't think the public would be convinced of the technology.
Now, if the new administration does away with juries for crimes involved in protesting Trump, I would be in trouble if I joined in the protests and they caught me. Until the juries are removed, I think I'm OK.
You don't have a right to not be offended, but Twitter has a right to try and maximize their profits. If people are being driven away from their product because of what they perceive to be offensive behavior, Twitter owes it shareholders to try and combat offensive behavior.
"Apple Considering Expansion Into Wearable Glasses"
I've never considered buying a pair of non-wearable glasses. I can see it now, 20 years in the future, Bob Jobs, Steve Job's great-great-great-great grandchild (generations will come quicker in the future), announcing to a sea of adoring fans how, back in 2017, Apple invented glasses that people could wear.
"Before the iGlasses, people used to leave their glasses on the table because they weren't wearable, it wasn't until Apple invented wearable glasses that people could wear them"
Sounds interesting but unless the price point was the same as a regular HDTV or close, I'm not going to feel any need to spend the extra on one. I don't really see much point in 2K or 4K or 3D sets. I'm sure they're great, and if they're the same price as a regular HD set (or just a little more) I might spring for it, but if they're $100+ more than an HD set- meh. I'm fine with slightly older TV technology thanks!
Honestly, I doubt it. Not in the US. Not really anyway to know without a controlled experiment, but my gut feeling would be that most people would eat the same. Especially in a place like Vegas where tourists will eat to gorge themselves, not eat to meet a daily-burn energy requirement.
People in the West don't eat to meet energy requirements, they eat because they enjoy eating and they get hungry. Most of us overeat to some degree, or at least eat more than we really need to. I doubt an ever so slight increase in our overall energy expenditure will lead to more food being eaten.
Las Vegas should now give a tax break for the all you can eat buffets.
The tiles produce more energy the more pressure (bigger the lardarse stepping on it). Fat people = more electricity. All those Vegas mega-buffets are now helping power the city. Vegas should give them a tax break.
Oh, and who said Obesity was a strain on the economy- obesity is fighting back and producing more electricity.
$700 not that much in the west, and probably not a huge deal to people in China toady either. I imagine it wasn't something to sneeze at for a family in China circa 2003.
Here in the US, $700 is less than a third of the cost I owed (even after insurance) for each of my children to be born. Medical Insurance is trying to enact a zero child per family policy here in the US I think.
1) They send you an e-mail confirming the order before they ship it and they don't charge you until they ship it. 2) Most things on Amazon has free returns on them. 3) If you want a refund you'll need to return the goods.
Then you have things like "Lego Dimensions" and "Skylander" which is equally ridiculous. My son wants them and I keep telling him that they're games for idiots. Why buy a game that you have to keep paying more and more to continuously to get new characters. It's a business technique to milk money from naïve people.
She's not a politician though and most likely won't run for anything. She has even said as much. She's never held public office and as such probably isn't qualified for any high-level political job.

I like my coffee like I like my women, freshly ground and hard pressed.

Who are "you guys"?
I'm going to send texts saying I'm eating Japanese food on a more regular basis now.
Hey honey, look at this Japanese sweet and sour chicken I'm eating. I feel like going to the Japanese restaurant for General Tsao's chicken tonight.
- that oughta piss 'em off.
You know what happens when you're offended?
Leprosy. You get Leprosy!
Your comment is offensive to people with leprosy.
To the British, the American colonists were “assholes”
Wrong tense. :P

Actually, they've both asked people to make the transition as peaceful as possible and told the public to accept the results of the election.

Yeah! I prefer when they try appeal to small audiences or use more offensive words. Damn journalists using non-offensive but casual language.

That is in no way a bad thing. I think most people in the US could do with a little bit more energy expended.

Trump is going to ruin singles day for Americans by placing a tariff on Chinese goods. And then he's going to start WWIII after dinner.
