The right sort of volcanic eruption could cure global warming for a while. If it put enough SO2 in the upper atmosphere. Of course it would still cause mass starvation with the volcanic winter.
Anyway I don't know why they had an alert - surely it would take many hours for the lava to burn through the ice, so ther would be plenty of time to divert planes before it went boom and blocked the flight path with ash.
While UPS customers may be worried, those are the people that send stuff by UPS. Just because you receive stuff by UPS doesn't make you vul;nerable. UPS hasn'r got my ccard info...
I don't mind walking if its snowing, snow doesn't really get you wet, and of course you can wear a snow suit. It generally doesn't get that cold while it is snowing. Its when it clears up afterward that the temperature drops below 0F and thats ok if the wind is behind you.
I wouldn't want to ride a bike on snow or ice though.

"No it wouldn't. 197 is 6.5 standard deviations from the mean, which has a likelihood of 1 in 12,500,000,000. 3 is the same distance with the same likelihood. So given that there exists a person with IQ 197, the likelihood of there being a person with IQ 3 is still 1 in 12,500,000,000."
So nobody should be scoring that high since there are only about 7,000,000,000 people on the planet and not all of them have taken IQ tests

Do they have commercial class vaxuums in the EU? For people that run a cleaning business, or for hospitals etc.
A friend of mine ran a cleaning business in NZ, and used backpack vacuum cleaners. Not sure of the power rating but they could really suck.
