  1. The right sort of volcanic eruption could cure global warming for a while. If it put enough SO2 in the upper atmosphere. Of course it would still cause mass starvation with the volcanic winter.

    Anyway I don't know why they had an alert - surely it would take many hours for the lava to burn through the ice, so ther would be plenty of time to divert planes before it went boom and blocked the flight path with ash.

    Do they have commercial class vaxuums in the EU? For people that run a cleaning business, or for hospitals etc.

    A friend of mine ran a cleaning business in NZ, and used backpack vacuum cleaners. Not sure of the power rating but they could really suck.

    I don't mind walking if its snowing, snow doesn't really get you wet, and of course you can wear a snow suit.
    It generally doesn't get that cold while it is snowing. Its when it clears up afterward that the temperature drops below 0F and thats ok if the wind is behind you.
      I wouldn't want to ride a bike on snow or ice though.

    Walking even 2 blocks in a thunderstorm can get you absolutly soaked, even if you're wearing a coat.

    These days I walk to work 99% of the time unless its raining. It takes about 20 minutes, and 17 minutes to walk home
    I thin the distance is about a mile. Leaving work I can use another door which is on the near side of the building.

    Hadn't they proved (mathematically) that just after the big bang there was a time (inflation) when it was expanding faster than light. If you are going faster than light then you can escape from a black hole.

    The word STOP was free, but other small words still cost, therefore they were often left out.

    At the end of the 20th century, the Universal House of Justice wrote emails that sounded like telegrams.
