No, they explicitly said "Everybody who works with us". The people who get their PC's infected arn't working with them.

This would not cause any disquiet amongst developers that really know the GPL. The clause specifically requires future versions of the license to be in the same spirit as the current one. Also FSF as an organization has a charter they must follow.

I'm seriously looking forward to what will propably be the flamewar of the decade. Millions of lines of code and thousands of coders will be directly affected by this, and they will all have they own opinions on where the license should go.

If FSF translates the license, the translations may have subtle differences from the main license and thus make them incompatible. The language of the license, especially a widly understood language like english, does not hinder its enforcement in non-english speaking courts.
Some of us are/will be professional programmers, a thick book does not scare us. Have you ever seen physics and calculus books? But wait, we're programmers, we can't handle that amount of information.
Sure you can do calculus with a 20 page set of rules, but not very efficiently. The core language does contain rather more than C or Smalltalk, the templates being a beast. But it's a beast that makes it easier to write efficient code and allows for meta-programming. BTW, why are you comparing Smalltalk to Java's capabilities?
Note that most of the book is about the standard library.
Why would we alpha-geeks not be paying for our music? The problem is the services suck and are overpriced, I'm happily paying http://di.fm/ $13 a month for really great net radio.
Ahhh, but you assume they will switch to x86. The only announcement is that they will use Intel chips, not which specific chipset. Personally, i doubt Apple would want x86 with it's legacy crap and register deficiency.
Actually, this has been going on as long as life has existed. And in recent times, when we have been sentient enough to make the choice, we've choosen efficiency. Only recently has it been possible to let unproductive new members remain alive.
And why, if you have two options which both lead to the same result, can you not choose the one where you have a productive person? There has been no termination of sentient life, and the potensial human is just that, potensial. It's kinda like dreams, what if.
Uhm... so you've been buying the quality equivalent of $10 keyboards with $90 addons, and you are complain that they arn't better? A product stuffed full of useless features is *not* a sign of quality.
"It was nice of you to try so hard, even though you did nothing, and we applaud you."
I think the community, (maybe we're talking about different communities?), is better served with Stallman pointing out how useless the Nokia announcement is. Although most of us could see it immidiately, some didn't.

People don't usually program in assembler anymore. The plumbing, bricklaying etc is done automagically.
Imagine trying to use a CAD program without a keyboard...
No, keyboard is not superior for point-n-drool applications. But that's not the topic here, now is it?
Obviously the title was to be Superior C++, but he realized alot of morons would be reading the book.

What, why is this not ethical? Are you assuming he *lied* in the review to get people to buy the book?
20 minutes? Bah, i can masturbate for atleast 40 minutes, it's all about technique.

They just need to announce it before release, very very quietly.
They've been doing that the whole time, they call them "users".
In Japan, old people are fossil fuels.
Obviously they are not geniouses as they seem to mix up correlation and casus.

Without software patents innocent children will die of hunger, PLEASE THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!!

I'm really not gonna comment on the spelling of the parent post... though...
According to your logic, it doesn't matter if you store millions of dollars in cash under the bed, since a safe is also vulnerable to break-ins.
Is these activities correlated to the article's use of statistics?
I've never played Doom3 and i'm not going to watch Star Wars. Damn wasted space, they should know better than posting stuff i'm not interested in!
There's one problem with your calculation, it assumes the cost of mass produced units is the same as the prototypes.
