  1. Can't you see? on Hans Reiser To Reveal Location of Wife's Body · · Score: 1

It's been all a plan, made by the ext3 developers. JFS/XFS wives: I'd be staying at home.

  2. DScaler ofcourse! on The Best of Windows Open Source Software? · · Score: 1

    Best program for watching/recording TV.
It has many features which I don't even use, so maybe there are more (maybe streaming, I'm not sure..).
It beats my tv-card manufacturer's program...

  3. Just to remind you on What Will Human Cloning Mean For Humanity? · · Score: 1

Just to remind you all- I saw too many people writing a wrong thing, thinking that if you'll clone yourself, and your clone will clone himself, etc, you can live forever this way.
So no. If you remember the sheep Dolly, Cloning, at least nowadays, is pretty primitive and if you clone an old man, he'll die pretty fast. It'll be good for children, maybe..

And also, imo, it's not like twins. They'll die young and grow fast, and.. besides.. who needs that stuff ? It sounds to me mostly like a game.. We play god, we control the nature, we can do anything we want, muhahahaha!!
Stupid, imo. Right. it'll be good for transplants. but what will we do - clone someone and then kill him when he is some months old, in order to take his lungs ? Isn't it.. you know, not humane a little ? just a little ?
He'll have feeling just as all of us, we're just confused a little because he wasn't born in the normal way. We would never think of killing someone 'normal' in order to get his liver for transplanting, would we ?

  4. Eh ? on Living In A Microsoft Country (And Speaking The Language)? · · Score: 1

Hi. I'm also living in a 'Microsoft Country' as you call it. Yes, in Israel.

I don't agree with you at all. First, there is a great progress all the time, especially since last year - Have you seen pango ? (http://www.pango.org) ? Have you heard about qt3? In some months gtk & qt will support hebrew just like Windoze does, that means that it'll be much easier for programmers to make their X programs support hebrew, japanese, etc.

This is a GREAT progress, if you think about the fact that you can count on one hand the kind Israelis who are involved with localization and making linux work better with hebrew.

I think that everyone that thinks that linux needs improvements with hebrew/other language support, shouldn't just say 'I can't use linux' or 'I can use Linux but it's really really hard for me!', but to try and contribute, for making his and other's life easier. That's what the open source is made for: If you find a bug in an application instead of stopping to use this applicaion you'll either try to fix the bug by yourself or at least notify the author!

  5. Registry ? on MySQL FS · · Score: 1

I was really happy to hear that, that's a very nice idea. But now I read here some comment which made me think that maybe some programs will start to save their configuration on this file system , just like windoze damned registry.

I really hope it won't happen, text file configuration files is da best imo.

For "real" db proposess it can be just great.

  6. Great news on ResierFS In Latest 2.4.1 Prepatches · · Score: 1

I'm tired of waiting for reiserfs patches in order to upgrade a kernel. It's about the time.

  7. So ?? on Linux 2.4 Wins 4th Place ... in Vaporware · · Score: 1

Do you prefer getting 2.4 in time, but having tons of bugs ? The kernel guys are working very hard, they add tons of features and remove very bugs each pre release. It's very good that it takes time, We're going to have a great kernel that way.

And if one can't wait, he can always take the 2.4.0-testXX version, which are very stable already.

  8. Re:"Offensive" Lyrics? on Nazis on Napster · · Score: 1

What the heck are you talking about.. Does the lyrics of death metal hurt anybody ? It's just offensive and that's all. Nazis lyrics are _RACIST_... don't you all see the difference ??

  9. Rappers are not racist! on Nazis on Napster · · Score: 1

I disagree with the first/second paragraph which cliams that if Nazi songs would be removed, the next would be Rap. How can you compare racist lyrics to 'violent' lyrics like 'fu** ya nigga'..
    That's a hell of a different.

  11. Very good, but on Ozone Hole Will Heal, Say British Scientists · · Score: 1

I'm really glad to hear that, and surprised to see that government INDEED cared about it and helped to reduce the CFC levels.

However, much more important environmental problem is the Greenhouse Effect & the global warming. It would cause terrible effects in the future, and it's even beggining now.

AFAIK, it won't be as easy as reducing the CFC levels is. It's mainly happening because of fossil fules usage, and it's pretty difficult to stop this and start using some other energy source. Maybe when the oil & coal in the world will be finished, world will also start some 'cooling effect'. I hope so. as I read not a long time ago, unlike what I thought, this effects start to affect earth already, and in the next decades we will really see the effects, thus even if the ozone hole won't be recovered, it'll be a minor problem for us.

  12. How Come ?? on Will Britain Log All Communications For 7 Years? · · Score: 1

I once saw some (BBC's ?) article about it. They said that Britian records all the phone calls at once. Sounds very weird and not pratical, if you ask me, but wait for the other part:
They claimed that their computers analyze all these calls to find interesting texts like 'bomb', 'terror', etc.
If you ask me, that's a big unimpossible bullshit. And think of the harddisk size needed for recording all that 7-years-data: I believe that in one day millions of calls are made. Let's say just million. recording million of 1-minute calls on mp3 will take about thousand Tera Bytes. per day. now calculate how much it takes in 7 years (just multiply in 2555).

Besides, let's just say it's true, why would they say it in public, and go to publish it on BBC ?
