I've seen a lot of posts about how to make paying more valuable. Well, since we are paying per page (which I assume means per page hit, which means per reload), then how about this idea:
Another user preference where you can choose to be emailed when a new story has been posted. This way we don't have to waste "pages" when reloading the front page for a new story or poll.
It's true that you can just "choose" to not have the main page count against you, but that still means that there will be a big fat add between each story.
I work as what's commonly called a "cage monkey" at Exodus Communications (Oh, I'm sorry, I mean "Exodus, a Service of Cable & Wireless"). The second greatest day of my employment there was when I turned in my resignation. The best day will be tomorrow when I leave for good.
My job is so boring that it practically kills me. Me and my coworkers get no respect. The management chain is like a barrel of monkeys. The list goes on, but I am just glad to say that it's almost over!
I've moved on to do tech work for a company that is not a tech company. I hope it works out.
It looks like he padded his equipment really good. That is, if you think he padded his tupperware with his Mac and his PowerTower. Seriously, though, I don't see any stuffing or padding in any of the pictures.
If these pictures are fake, then this guy got really screwed. What idiot would sign for this?
Why pay $99 for the console and then a whopping
$60.00 for the network adapter? I think if Sega is liquidating their hardware or whatever, they need to lower the price on these babies about %50 or more.
It's hard to imagine a firewall with one ethernet port. Well, I guess that pretty much stops traffic from getting through.
As far as I know, the Dreamcast (is intended to) only support(s) one adapter, no room for two. Sure, someone will find a way to hack at it, but not for a while.
I remember I used to play catch with my dad when I was younger. There was no loser there, it was just a good time and healthy!
This may not be considered a game by many, but isn't the purpose of a game to enjoy yourself as you *win*. So depending on someone's definition, there is no such thing as a non-zero sum game. Just non-zero sum activities.
What are your thoughts on the difference of speed in shells: sh, ksh, bash, mostly. I've always been taught to do any serious shell script in the bourne shell, which I do. It's feature-less-ness is great for speed and efficiency. Also, what are your thoughts on perl? Again, related to the speed of execution/interpretation.
Now I may only use sh to script, but I think that your shell is the most efficient for command-line usage. Once I started using ksh, I never touched csh again...
set -o vi
To put yourself into vi line-editing mode works in both bash and ksh, then under bash and ksh this will work:
[escape]\
fills in the rest of the filename.
On a seperate note, I always just customise my bash shells to work like ksh. I've always been a fan of ksh, definately the best command line shell. Though, bourne shell is still the most efficient for scripting (Of shells, back off, perl-dudes!).

I was going to a community college taking general courses and then took the Unix 1 class at this college. That is where I met this man. After taking this class with him, I took all the other courses that he taught. Then, we did a lot of special projects together, directed studies and coaching, et cetera. I basically got all sorts of good excuses and credit to hang out with this really cool guy.
Now it's much later, and I'm accross the country, and I still talk to him a lot. I help him with problems on his systems, and he's a good friend. I definately couldn't imagine a better teacher. I've learned a lot from him.

But I start a new job next week!

Ummmmm... Ally McSlut and Boston Screwed-up-High are both shows created by David E. Kelley, not Chris Carter. 24 is also not by Chris Carter.
I do agree that the show has gone down hill, but I'll still stick with it until the end.

Not if I buy them first...
muahahaha.
I would be pretty mad playing an arcade game, then getting the blue screen of death because I'm running a Micro$oft product.

I don't know what's up with this, how many other stories like this are going around? Would this lead to a war with Japan?

They'll pay, I tell you! Just wait until they get their insurance quote!
muahahaha!
This is Microsoft that we are talking about, is it not? Don't they make their software gold first, and then make the public "test" it?
Check out this story from a little while back, it states that the X-Box hardware has gone gold. Now all they have left is testing, etc...
http://www.msxbox.com/php/full_post.php3?id=1138
Funny, though, the link from that site used to work. I wonder if MS removed their "Gone Gold" announcement, perhaps making it "not-gold" afterall.

I own a Dreamcast, but I'd never pay that much

You must be running Windows.
Also, your Dreamcast must be flaming pile of plastic. My Dreamcast gets too hot too fast.
Not everybody wins... I very often lose pieces.

Define for me: Internet browser.
There's an OS that's as good as ours...
Try better.
I heard that was planned, and now 2000 is long gone. Mr-Pope
