did you catch the episode of Bullshit where they said that all bottled water is just tap water? Where they completely ignored the fact that while the water does indeed come from "the tap" (typically the county water supply where the bottling plant is located), but it's not put straight into bottles as received. For example Pepsi treats their water with lime, then runs it through reverse osmosis before bottling it.

Point is that Bullshit isn't exactly a good source of information.

Indeed, NoScript is a constant reminder of how much a) ad related b) tracking related c) who knows what related (obscure domains) javascript out on the web. I've been on sites that had 10 external domains trying to run javascript. The sad part is that on the vast majority of sites that have external javascript, I can leave that javascript disabled with no detriment. Typically, enabling javascript for the domain of the site I'm visiting, and maybe a CDN domain makes everything work (menus, videos automatically, what have you).

Ad to this redirects which you can't do anything about? Talk about hell! At least you can block ads and control javascript (to a large degree, including running your own (GreaseMonkey, etc)), but you can't un-redirect a link. Sure you could use javascript to try and resolve all the links on a page, but all you gain is having your browser do it in the background instead of pre-click. But that's a helluva kludge.

Down with tracking. Fuck you if you want to spend your time watching me. The horror of the digital revolution is that now you don't have to have an actual person to spy on people :( Which is exactly why it's very much different for a police officer to stand on a corner watching out for crime and having a camera mounted there recording all the time. But I digress.

All we can do is voice our opinion against this trash practice, and try to avoid it as much as possible.......so FUCK YOU TWITTER, stop acting for your own interests and respect mine!

You do realize that the top 10% of people spend proportionately less than the rest of the population. Instead they invest much larger percentages of their money (especially compared to the bottom 25%, which have 0.1% of their income from investments).

Given this reality, it's easy to see how poor people spend the vast majority of their money on consumption, while the rich spend far less. If the tax is based on consumption then it's inevitbale that it will be disproportionate.

You ignore the fact that one of the primary benefits of developing for Flash is it's cross-platform-ness. When developers leverage this they can easily lose sight of the benefits of one specific platform (iPhone OS) and thereby leave out features or develop kludges. Jobs specifically addressed this by saying that many Flash products (specifically drop down menus) don't translate well to touch screen devices.

Consumers care about quality, and going cross-platform almost universally decreases quality. You can see it time and time again in the console game world. While this isn't a rule it's highly typical.

I hope that you realize that Firefox has this nifty feature called "keywords" that you can use to make searches in the url bar....it's had this for as long as I can remember. They're stored in the default directory: Quick Searches

So, what you do is find the text input box of any search that you use frequently. Right-click the box and select "Add a Keyword for This Search...", this will bring up the bookmark dialog. Here, pick a name, and type in whatever shortcut that you'd like to use ( in your example "gm" ) into the keyword field. Save it anywhere, or the Quick Searches folder for consolidation purposes.
Now goto the address bar, type "gm xxxxxxxx", hit enter.........instant google maps searches.

Sometimes sites like google maps do weird things with their text input boxes and this doesn't work..... If google maps is giving you problems try this url http://maps.google.com/maps?q=%25s&f=q&hl=en &nbsp&nbsp if you like to use something other than english, then change the "l=en" part or just get rid of it.

Personally I use this "i" for google images, and "g" for google, or "yt" for youtube.
Makes searching the internet much more convenient, and it's already built-in!
