don't worry eventually the tech guy will be allowed to install office onto a xp virtual machine that will only have office on it and save to a shared folder and maybe several years down the line install libre office on the host and the problem will go away.

if we put them on metal someone will come along and melt them down and make a cooking pot or frying pan out of them. never under estimate the the ability of anyone to not give a crap about history and knowledge. what you need is a Indiana Jones like temple/datacenter/library that will kill anyone not very determined to get at what the ancients left behind built in a geographically stable area that will anything sort of a direct extinction level meteor strike. fill it with books to teach them basic english and then books to teach computer design and programming and the function/use of all of the equipment contained inside give them the language specifications for every programing language used, along with all of source code for the compliers as a reference. fill it to the brim with as much as you can to communicate how to use your acrival media

Also virtualbox has an unstable wine based direct 3d patch. but back to the point it is not impossible to get all of the unity crap on a vm you just have to futz with it for longer then it worth to simply play with a kludgey interface.

Don't want a web app to have access to something just disable that with appblock plus. wan't to kill the comic sans font from apps just install comic sans remover plugin. But since it is all browser based will how will app writers not have costumers simply copy the page source for the HTML (presumably a extended version of five) CSS and JavaScript? And what advantage will this have when all of their apps will be usable by everyone else (being web app runing in a browser) but not vis versa(native apps)? aren't the people already realizing web apps where a bad idea already like facebook saying that it was a bad move and switching back to a native app? they will have to work on some native apps even Google has realized that and is working on running native code on ChromeOS another browser as a OS implementation. How will it do with out flash will Mozilla finally relent and use the pepper api even just as an optional plugin? what about audio and vidio codex on my pc it gets them from vlc on my linux box and windows media player and vlc on my windows box who will provide them on the firefox mobile os since they seem to have funny ideas about what codex should be the standard.

All this will do is get amazon to sell the kindle, kindlefire at radioshacks and insert_mobile_service_provider_here store and staples.

My mother is allergic to most meat and my Dad grew up vegetarian but eats meat now so I grew up eating a mix of meat and veggie substitutes. As for vegetarians not getting enough nutrients they can get them from any number of meat substitutes such as TVP or Textured Vegetable Protein. Manny meat eaters think veggie meat is disgusting but once you get used to the fact that the fake meats don't really taste like the meats they are supposed to imitate and just treat them like a entirely different type of meat they can be pretty good too. My personal favorite is an off brand vegetarian curry abalone that goes great with a little rice and mushroom soup curry gravy.
So effectively what Microsoft has given the world for free is something that barely gets the job done -- and given that model, I would say it would definitely appeal to the same demographic they're advertising Windows 8 development to: college students.
As a college student I take great offense at the thought that pile of kludge is aimed at me. I have only met one person (in meatspace, all others I view with suspicion that it might be Balmer just trolling forums) that tried the windows 8 prerelease and liked it. (before that i thought he was a bit odd anyway but that just cemented it.)
